OK - how about this - I have been a "fanatic" APP fan since '98-'99 since our daughter would be entering as a freshman - AND, I am not an APP grad, so in essence I pull for a school which I did not attend - THEREFORE, I will take his place as a devoted fan ---- Now someone else will have to take his place in the donations area

Please not another one. You people need to worry about yourself and less about Eric Church. It’s stupid how much some of you worry about someone you don’t even know.

It would be less embarrassing if we didn't look like such tryhards.

App grads get mad over this because it's a story we've seen a hundred times over. Our fellow App grads won't lift a finger to support or care until a Michigan happens or there's a clothing line to sell, but then in the winter time they bleed Tar Heel blue and Tweet at five stars to sway them to Chapel Hill. You try to preach the gospel of Yosef, but the childhood romance pulls them away every single year. It strikes a chord and it hurts.

In my case, there was also attempted indoctrination into Eric Church fandom by fellow App fans, but I never bought in myself. For many, its now hate in the place of love.

And it's funny, every Chapel Hill grad I know are good people.

If this helps, most folks don't care about this kid or the other one from App that make offensively terrible fake counry music. One wears the specimen of unc and one apparently loves to be draped in the confederate flag. Ya'll need to quit reaching. Otherwise you might care about the racist neckbeard dude or the carolina blue kid and forget both vomit out poor music fed to them by the labels that own them.

Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, and John Prine never pandered to their alma maters.... they made good music.

Eric is a damn talented musician, performer and song writer. Do I wish he wasn’t a UNC fan, sure. Is it going to stop me from wishing him well tonight and enjoying his music, no. And anybody who says he’s not talented simply isn’t open minded or doesn’t know talent when they see it.

Talk about wrong song for him to sing....I can't imagine him doing anything more than butchering it. He ain't exactly Whitney Houston.
