ASU Pro Day is April 1

Unread post by Neer86 » Wed Mar 31, 2021 1:46 pm

Good luck guys!

Noah Hannon, Shemar Jean-Charles, Ryan Neuzil, and Zac Thomas collectively started 159 games for App State, garnered nine All-Sun Belt Conference selections, finished with multiple Sun Belt championships and a perfect bowl record, and enough bling to fill an entire hand.

Now, on April 1, they take the field for the biggest non-game performance of their careers, with professional scouts converging on Boone, NC to kick the tires on all four Mountaineers.

Heard Hannon has dropped down to 240s in hopes to get a looks at fullback since everyone was told he was 260 by our staff and is expected to be around 6'0. Most teams wrote him off as a center so if he puts up great testing numbers that should get him a real shot now. Hopefully he can run about a 4.6 or 4.7 and really open eyes. He is such a good blocker and moves so well that I would think a good position workout and testing numbers makes him a PFA, or at least a tryout, as a fullback.

i was really surprised to see Hannon on the list. Seemed like he was moving on from football. Hope it works out well for him. He is a smart and tough player

Not a lot of fullbacks in the NFL.But it’s a shot at living the Dream.

I heard two weeks ago he was testing and that shocked me. I asked the person who said he was working out if they were sure. They said they confirmed with App to make sure it was not an error. May as well try so you have no regrets.

Expectation was 4.50-4.55 so with training that is not a big surprise. Word from someone at pro day was that SJC is a 7th round or PFA. If that is indeed what most people think then I would imagine teams are going to be recruiting him hard with texting, calls, and telling them how much they like him over the next few weeks.

Yes it is indeed. Someone will sign him or give him a tryout (if they are allowed). He did pretty well.

Hannon's 40 is a little slow. I imagine he lost some strength with the weight loss. Pretty good for a short training period though. Neuzil moves pretty good for a 300 pounder.

I think that the 40 is a ridiculous test for anyone except a receiver or a corner (maybe a safety). Who cares how fast a 300 lb lineman runs. Same for a QB or a fullback. If NH gets a shot at fullback he isn’t taking off down the field for long runs.

NFL teams get the 40 for everyone to compare but the 10 and shuttles are what matter for them. The whole reason behind the 40 was because that is typically how far players have to run down the field on special teams so they wanted to see how their long speed is. I will say that most of the time a bad 10-yard does not mean a good 40. Sometimes they don't correlate closely but often they do.

Jean-Charles, Shemar, DC, 5103, 184, 4.51 and 4.53 40, 2.67-2.68 20, 1.62 10 twice, 35 VJ, 10'4 BJ, 4.33 SS, 7.15 3-cone, 8 3/4 hand, 30 7/8 76 wing, 19 reps.

Just based on 40 you would think so but his jumps and shuttles were not quite enough that I would imagine scouts are telling him to switch. I thought maybe if he were to switch he could be a safety. This year is the best year for him though because the draft class is thin at QB. He might be a top 2-3 PFA and someone who actually has name brought up in war rooms on draft day. He doesn't have a Flacco like arm but it is strong enough that he will get legit shot.
