Out of all the future conference teams, where are you excited about traveling to first? I hope to see them all as fast as possible. (maybe not Idaho)
Louisiana is probably the one I am most curious about seeing but all of them will be fun. I imagine it will make us look good if we travel well. Go App!

I am two hours from the Ga. Dome so I look forward to seeing App play there. The last time I saw an ASU indoor game was in the mini dump so this will be a whole lot better.

I only live 10 miles from the GA Dome so can't wait to see App play there. I have also been to the Texas State campus. It's a beaufiful area. My job transferred me to Louisiana. While they do like to party there, after two years I said I would move anywhere, just get me out of here. Thankfully I was transferred to Texas.

I'm looking forward to that too. Besides, Texas State is in a great part of Texas. It is 30 minutes south of Austin, the Live Music Capital of the World, and an hour north of San Antonio. In between Texas State and San Antonio is New Branfels, great German food and atmosphere with two gorgeous spring fed rivers (Texas State campus also has a pring fed river and great park)
Tons of stuff to do. The University literally sits right on the Balcones Fault which is where the Texas Hill Country begins.
Plan to take several days to take it all in.

Another way to get Leslie, or for that matter, any of the other spouses to agree to come to Texas State are the outlet malls in San Marcos. They have two of the largest outlet malls that I have ever seen just 5 miles south of the stadium.
We are about to head out the door to go to those malls in a couple of hours.

How could I forget to mention BBQ in the Texas State post?
Bobcat Stadium is just 18 miles away from what most Texans consider to be the BBQ capital of the world: Lockhart Texas. In that small town of about 10,000 there are 4 of the perinniel top 10 BBQ joints in the state.
There is Blacks
Smitty's
Kreuz's
And Chisolm Trail
Many Texans don't feel life is complete without doing the BBQ crawl (starting at one end of town (Kruez's) and eating your way across town (Chisolm Trail) at least once in their life.
It is different from NC Q, but well worth the trip.

Brisket is the main thing, but the smoked sausage is fantastic too. Lived in West Texas covering Angelo State back in '01...and broadcast a game from what was then SW Texas St., now Texas St. (not in the SW part of the state, oddly enough). Love the Hill Country & what I saw of San Marcos.
With that said...Ark State would be my choice, because I could check off Memphis 'cue on my food list on the way up from Atlanta!

I am a APP alum an excited APP is making the move to the sunbelt. Live 15 minutes from Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos, TX so it will be an easy drive when APP visits for a game.

It is mainly beef; brisket to be exact, although they do pork ribs which are great and my favorite is the sausage rings, which I think are beef and pork. I'm sure you can also get some cabrito, which is roasted or BBQ kid goat. Around Easter the Hispanics in South Texas do a lot of goat BBQ. I've never had it, we had goats behind us that we're pets, but most people like it very well.
I just got back from Black's where I purchased 35 rings, 5 garlic, 5 jalapeƱo and cheese, and 25 regular.

Mobile (South Alabama) has some good Q at a place called Dreamland BBQ. All three facets (pork, chicken and ribs) are fantastic. As for my first trip, I am thinking New Mexico or Texas State.

Black's is definitely good TX BBQ. Also, down the road in Driftwood, TX is The Salt Lick which is worth a trip and is not too far from the TXST campus.

Well that just doubled the budget of the trip!
