Still don't understand this number not being retired, but at least it seems we always have great players wearing the number.

With just 2 weeks to go, I just wanted to thank GreatAppState for this countdown. It must take a lot of work. Even though I don’t engage the thread often, it is always there! It has helped get and keep the fire burning. Now only two weeks, I can hardly contain myself! Thanks again, GAS!!!

I think it would be cool if the 14 at app worked like the 7 at LSU with the “best” player on the team getting the privilege to wear it

We've had the discussion about retiring #14 a lot on here. It does seem wrong on one level that AE's number isn't retired. That said, since he has gone, that number has been worn by Cox and other superstars and the issue is now clouded. I think the answer suggested previously is retiring the jersey (not the number) and using the number as mentioned above....as an honor for outstanding backs.
