Hopefully we get him for some basketball and baseball as well. He did a great job on all of that but football was special having him on the dial.

Just realized it says he will be doing the home games. God willing, we will be at every home game.
That being said I love to rewatch the game the next day. Can’t wait to hear DJ yell “Touchdown Black & Gold!”

He did a good job of being neutral when he did the SoCon basketball tournament. Still good to hear his voice.

I'm not sure I'd call the ESPN+ announcers I've heard "completely neutral" since they are always provided by the home team. I completely agree that they SHOULD be neutral, but I am fine they they often have a little "home" flavor. That said, even when he was the working for App as an Assistant AD and the "Voice of the Mountaineers", DJ was a consummate professional. He always studied the opponent's roster and gave props when due. I know I'm biased, but there are very few who are as good as he is. Glad to have him involved in our broadcasts again!

David is only doing the ESPN+ broadcasts. Adam Witten, joined this year by former player Noah Hannon as analyst, will be in the radio booth.
From the release linked in the first post of this thread:
With Adam Witten entering his sixth season as the radio play-by-play voice of the Mountaineers on the Appalachian Sports Network from Learfield, and Molly Cotten entering her fifth season as the primary sideline reporter, they'll be joined by another App State alum in recent graduate and all-conference football standout Noah Hannon, who will serve as the radio analyst.
David Ware of 247Sports affiliate App State Mania will also fill in as a sideline reporter during the season.
When the Mountaineers appear on ESPN+ while playing in Boone this season, David Jackson (play-by-play) and Avery Hall (analyst) will call the action from Kidd Brewer Stadium.
