Here's what cracks me up. "power 5" phrase is made up. Granted, most of those conferences are good, but most of the teams suck. Each conf has 3-4 good teams. Lots of upper "group of 5" teams would destroy the Vanderbilt, GT, Wake Forest, Miss St. 50 more generic programs.

Yes. There is more parity in CFB now than ever. Its proven every week when teams like Coastal & Jacksonville State beat "P5s"

The top of the G5 and the majority of the P5 are equal. If we could have a separation of church (basketball) and state (football) I think we could actually have a legitimate relegation/promotion system.

We all know they had real world options, but there was a travel advisory in Western NC and App cancelled the game. The storm didn't really wind up impacting western NC much at all and the game could easily have been played, but decisions have to be made early. The bottom line is, it gave Southern Miss the excuse they needed.

They even turned down an offer to play it in Hattiesburg, because the contract said the game was to be played in Boone. They didn’t want to get the ass whoopin that they had coming.
