Re: Marshall Game
Great, scary, game!!! Can we work on Brices run plays? He made some big moves with his legs, but he’s kind of slow. Having that dual threat ability is a beautiful thing

No offense here either, however, an offensive coordinator at Illinois may prove otherwise, what is their current record once again?Seattleapp wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 12:14 amNo offense but Last year in Huntington is exhibit a as to why you are wrongWataugaMan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 11:12 pmReally? Re: Marshall Game
I love how we have two completely different style RBs that we can deploy to either change things up or to have a fresh/ready player when their defense is exhausted. Noel will be fascinating to watch for the next few years.

Re: Marshall Game
I’m not sure at what point in the game I made my ridiculous comment. Maybe when it was 30-21. We were shooting ourselves in the foot, but my comment was an overreaction, and made out of frustration.Boonegoon wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 10:29 pmI really don’t know how you say any of that. I get that it was tight, but dang, we held them to about half what they average in yards. We had 38 first downs. 38. Two turnovers, one on a first down gain and a kickoff return against us and still won. What do you want?tm37766 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 9:13 pmI lied about my last post saying I wouldn’t post again.
This is my last post— we just got manhandled.
Losing at the line of scrimmage and 2-0
on turnovers is a bad equation for winning.
Poor execution so far
If we win it’ll be a small miracle because we don’t deserve it right now
Sorry to be so negative folks.
I reviewed stat lines after the game and pretty much came to the same conclusion you’ve pointed out. So I agree with your assessment of my overreacting.

Re: Marshall Game
Considering how bad some of our conference opponents are I can see the very real possibility of us having 4 1,000 yards guys- Peoples is at 367 and Noel 448. Sutton has 367 and Henni has 283 receiving.
And on the passing front Brice has eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark with a passer rating of 148 and has completed 67% of his throws.
How many schools have had a 4,000 yard passer 2 1,000 yard rushers and 2 receivers who might end up with close to if over 1,000 yards?

Re: Marshall Game
It was a dogfight. I wasn't surprised.
Folks, if we play good teams we will have close games like this. It should be expected.
I think our kids showed amazing heart to overcome mistakes and win like they did. Pretty or ugly, a win is a win. Now on to GAST.

This is true. I’ve expressed some dumb opinions during games more than once. We have to have short memories as fans sometimes.

Re: Marshall Game
I really enjoyed this game. Watching our D clamp tighter as the field got shorter was high drama. I thought the interception wasn’t a bad decision. Brice has the arm to squeeze that in there. Also was a shame his long run got called back. We are clicking pretty good. Just need to avoid costly errors.

Re: Marshall Game
Brice had little to no time for some of his throws-Marshall really got after him. That led to some of the less accurate tosses. I also think he was playing on a bit of a bum ankle, which didn’t help. All in all though, I thought he played very well. He would have been killed if it was Duke against Marshall last night.

I love Jalen to the ends of the Earth but, Nate Noel > Jalen Moore last night.t4pizza wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 10:33 pmWhat a game!!!!! He came in with fresh legs when their D was really wearing down and he just took it to them. And what a heads up play going down on the 5 yard line instead of scoring that td. Talk about a team player. He hasn't hit pay dirt yet this year and he had a wide open shot and pulled back for the benefit of the team. That is a really hard thing for a competitor to do. He showed a lot tonight.
