Heck yeah. Move that game back to Saturday and get CGD to show up. Talk about a sellout.

"Let’s take a shot: Coastal Carolina and App State move their game from Wednesday to Saturday to accommodate College GameDay."
LOL, sure. One can dream, right?

While that would be awesome, I just don't see it happening this late in the season with the game less than a month away. They would be left without game inventory on Wednesday night and I doubt ESPN would do that.

The ESPN dudes hinted Thursday night that this might be a possibility IF both teams win out. Given that our game with Coastal is scheduled for a Wednesday, I assumed they were smoking crack. Hopefully that’s not the case.

Agree. But IF the mothership wanted to do it, they could fill the slot with the Knicks/Celtics.

Then what would they replace Knicks-Celtics with on ESPN?
More importantly, why would they go to all this trouble (and potential expense) when they can simply stage Gameday somewhere else, not lose any ratings at all, and keep the game they originally scheduled in its Wednesday primetime slot?

Obviously we would need both App and CCU to win out but if we are around 25-30 and CCU is in the top 15 then I wonder how much of a real chance that ESPN moves the game for GAMEDAY to show up? If so, this would be the ideal scenario for that game.

For some reason, this game isn’t on the schedule to be televised over any network. ESPN has a West Coast game for 10:00 pm. So it isn’t inconceivable that they could add it in. Just a thought.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 11:16 amThen what would they replace Knicks-Celtics with on ESPN?

According to ESPN, they're already scheduled to air it:AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 11:30 amFor some reason, this game isn’t on the schedule to be televised over any network. I’m sure if they saw value in moving the game, they could find programming to fill the slot.Appmountaineers19 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 12:07 pmI think it said the App/CC is to be televised on the deuce

Re: College Football GAMEDAY in Boone, NC?
Personally the LAST thing I think we need for the game is Game Day. I recall back leading up to the home Miami game people wanted the same thing. We also had some Pep Rally and understandably it was a huge game but I believe all of the added hype was a major distraction. I’d love the game to be moved to 3:30 on Saturday but let the other stuff go.

Although I do not believe it will happen...you never pass up opportunity for CGD at your campus.... definitely would help recruiting as well

Re: College Football GAMEDAY in Boone, NC?
While you could be right (and I absolutely agree that it would be cool) the recruiting aspect leads me to a question I’ve always wanted to ask. Does anyone with a particular sport ask an athlete who has signed with App why they ultimately chose to come here? I figure that they probably do ask. That being said would the average 18 year old football player really care if Game Day came to Boone? I just can’t see most guys that age up watching any Game Day show no matter how good they are in high school.Tbatchelor1977 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 1:06 pmAlthough I do not believe it will happen...you never pass up opportunity for CGD at your campus.... definitely would help recruiting as well

I can see where it could enhance the Gameday experience for anyone up on the mountain for an unofficial visit. In reality, I don’t think that it makes a decision swinging impact.
