Once we win one more, we will talk about it. Right now, it's not guaranteed.

Re: Conference Championship Game
We were planning to talk about it if we take care of business. We got to beat Troy and really need to beat GSU or else this season will feel like a failure. Troy is the ONLY game we should talk about for now. 1-0!Zeke.Midas007 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 1:39 pmAre we not going to talk about going to Lafayette to take what is ours???

If anyone finds a deal...please share.

Re: Conference Championship Game
American out of Charlotte direct to Lafayette (round trip) is about $400 which is the cheapest I've seen. Its such a small airport, flights out Sunday are scarce as well. I'd suggest booking earlier rather than later.spacemonkey wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 4:47 pmlooked up flights today...there is no cheap way to get to Lafayette.

Re: Conference Championship Game
I hate to jinx this stuff and prefer to wait until we win if I were going to fly. However, I'll make the long drive. It is a long drive but for a game of that magnitude it is worth it.NeersBy90 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 4:53 pmAmerican out of Charlotte direct to Lafayette (round trip) is about $400 which is the cheapest I've seen. Re: Conference Championship Game
Amtrak from anywhere from Greensboro to Gastonia (or start in Philly or even New York City) on the southbound Crescent will get you to New Orleans. The Sunset Limited will take you from New Orleans to Lafayette, LA. The Sunset Limited does not run every day so scheduling would be problematic, but it is doable.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

More than anything I want to beat Troy to rob Georgia Southern of the opportunity to knock us out of the conference championship game

Seems like the city could make a case with Amtrak to run a special line that weekend.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 6:52 pmAmtrak from anywhere from Greensboro to Gastonia (or start in Philly or even New York City) on the southbound Crescent will get you to New Orleans. Which is cheaper than two weekend hotel nights in Boone during the season.NeersBy90 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 4:53 pmAmerican out of Charlotte direct to Lafayette (round trip) is about $400 which is the cheapest I've seen. Re: Conference Championship Game
In 1978, WCU stormed out to such a large lead in the SoCon they had to win only one of their last threes games to clinch. They lost all three including the last one to App by a huge margin.
No need to be thinking about the Belt Championship game until we have earned being there. Beat Troy; 1-0 this week.

Re: Conference Championship Game
Never look ahead. 100% with you there. People are debating stuff 5-6 weeks ago that now are not within reach because of their team's play. Can't take any team for granted and my only concern is beating Troy right now. 1-0 this week and then focus on Georgia Southern. I want to tack on 40-50 this week and make a huge statement win against Troy more than anything right now.appstate77 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 11:05 pmIn 1978, WCU stormed out to such a large lead in the SoCon they had to win only one of their last threes games to clinch. Re: Conference Championship Game
I get not wanting to jinx it, but strictly from a financial standpoint, if you bought plane tickets to LFT last week it was $100 per ticket cheaper. For a family of 4 that's not peanuts. I'd venture a guess it won't get any better going forward.
