Re: No News on You Know What?
I would prefer a statement of "an investigation turned up on evidence to support the accusations" the end over never hearing anything at all.

Re: No News on You Know What?
There could be reasons that there’s no news. Or it could just be that there’s nothing to it and all parties are figuring out how to communicate to the public. I assume it is being handled and am going to keep in assuming that until stuff hits the fan.
Discipline issues and how they are handled are none of my business. Clark said on Monday they’re looking into it. That’s enough for me.

I'm fine letting it be chalked up to "sh*t happens on the football field" when adrenaline is flowing and tempers flare They were penalized and can/will be punished further by their coaches if necessary. Not sure we need to know anymore than that.

Re: No News on You Know What?
or no news could mean there is no news. no evidence either way and still he said/he said. Its not always something nefarious going on. why everyone assumes the worst and salivates at the possibility of App (your supposed team) screwing up is beyond me. The more its talked about the more credence we give it when there is absolutely no evidence of the accusations. Let it die until there is reason to talk about it againNcmtn wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 3:26 pmNo news tells me they are protecting somebody. Is it our side for doing what they claimed or their side for claiming something that didn't happen. We may never know. I think they just want it to be forgotten and disappear. Sun Belt has positive momentum right now and lets sweep any negativity under the rug might be thinking. I mean it's nearly been a full week and zero comment or acknowledgement.

Re: No News on You Know What?
Long story short, both teams, officials, and commissioner met. Nobody denied there was spit, but a ref never admitted to seeing it either like Wommack said. Nobody admitted to anything racial said -- including Wommack. Neither player will get any more punishment from the conference. It is up to the team to penalize now.
Spurlin is listed as the starter on the depth chart, but we all know that doesn't mean anything.

I know things happen, especially in the heat of the battle, but I just don’t see our guy doing this. No news is good news as I see it! Go Apps!

Maybe two programs put their big boy pants on and moved on…
I suggest fans do the same.

Re: No News on You Know What?
Yup! Spurlin just wasn't on the call (neither was Gray from So Al). I just think it's funny how Wommack goes to the media with what he said, but then won't admit it when having a meeting with the conference and officials at the game. Also think it's funny he said an official told him Spurlin spit, but not one official said they saw anything during this meeting.AppNC wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 8:55 pmIf you talk to Spurlin he denies spit!AppStateNews wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 8:43 pmLong story short, both teams, officials, and commissioner met. Clark and Wommack are close. Would not be surprised if that relationship has soured since Clark will always stand up for his players.

Re: No News on You Know What?
Said player was wearing a captains C on his chest when this occurred. If there is truth to any of this (slur or spit) I sincerely hope he never plays another down in the black and gold. If this is a fabricated story by a kid that lost his cool. Then I would hope an apology is on it way from SAU.
Appalachian State, Better than your school since 1899!!!!
