Texas A&M has pulled out of the Gator Bowl on Dec. 31. Wake Forest is looking for someone to play. Who's up for one more game?

Is this Texas A&M trying to make their mark as Wale Forest being an unworthy opponent? Or does Jimbo just not want to lose to Wake after all of his pay for play recruiting?

Covid has left A&M without enough players from what I read.

Also said looking at teams that have already played a bowl game.

Seems WKU or ULL would be a better matchup if we're honest with ourselves.

they ducked us last year, I'm sure they wouldn't agree to play us this year

App had a bad match-up with WKU due to their system. Not sure that Wake Forest would be as bad.

There are three options really

The game is cancelled and that seems unfair to WFU.
The play a team that did not go bowling and that would be a 5-6 team and that seems a bit of a let down to WFU.
Play against a team that has already played with UL being the best matchup on paper and us being a great matchup for location reasons. I am not sure how fair it would be trying to get the band back together at this point, but I am sure most schools would say yes to the extra game if allowed.

Looks like 5 teams have reached out, the two primary teams being Illinois and Marshall.

I bet if our players weren't already set their homes for break, this would happen.

I would not be surprised if they already reached out to us and Gillin has a tough decision to make.

So you guessing they've reached out? Would get App fans excited though. Not sure how many would make it back to Florida but for an Orange Bowl game I'd have to think people would get up for it.

We’d be down a significant number of core players who have declared for the draft. Not sure how well this would work out for us. WFU offense is perhaps more legit than WKU.
