I thought technically JMU would count as an OOC game for 2022. So couldn't we make Marsha a conference game and play JMU OOC?AppStateNews wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 9:23 pmIt's obviously not optimal for either program, but there aren't many (if any) that have an opening for next season that will align perfectly.BUTCH1991 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 9:20 pmI would hope notAppStateNews wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 7:15 pmMarshall also needs an OOC game -- assuming rumors are true. Don't be surprised to see us play them twice. One as OOC, the other as a conference game.
Good news if that's what happens (not saying it's definitely going to happen, but don't be surprised if it does) is it would certainly bring in a good gate for both games.

Not if rumors are true and JMU will go to full Sun Belt conference schedule next year. If this happens, it's a conference game.BallantyneApp wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 11:49 amI thought technically JMU would count as an OOC game for 2022. Re: Cancel the Citadel game for 2022!!??!!
Why can we not just play more conference games and less ooc games? Let the Win/Loss percentage decide the division champion. Give us 3 west and 6 east. Let one of the west games be OOC. If other teams can only play 8 It would be ok. In one way it would be an advantage to us and another it would be a disadvantage but overall it would be fair. All the east teams would have to agree but the west should not care because it would not affect their division champ.

The main reason being only us and Marshall are in this position. It would throw off the entire scheduling for the entire conference.spacemonkey wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 12:40 pmWhy can we not just play more conference games and less ooc games? Additionally, if you add one more in conference game to both of our schedules, what do the teams in the west that are added do to their OOC schedule? The OOC games are scheduled far in advanced and usually contain a buy out clause. Does the conference pay that buy out for those two teams? Or are they on the hook? You can't just give them one less division game because that would directly impact the division winner.

I guess the Citadel game was moved, based on the scheduled date of October 1st.

Anyone know how much we make on a home game?? Students don't pay to get in. It would take 11,667 tickets at $30 bucks to make the 350k.

If sold out, the seating in the NEZ alone brings in $200k per game. Not to mention the beer garden and premium seating on the West side.spacemonkey wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 12:34 pmAnyone know how much we make on a home game?? Students don't pay to get in.
