I've seen a couple of tweets about this but nothing solid enough yet. Also seeing some rumblings about a possible WR from a CA JUCO. He's saying he's transferring on his twitter account but I want to see a little more first since nothing has been said about football.

We've had success with relatively few FBS transfers. Here's hoping if we get these two guys that our fortunes will be better :!: :!: .

Here's hoping with you. Us being FBS should raise the quality of any transfers we get. When you're FCS most are kids who don't get time FBS time and want to try and go down so they can play. Reading between the lines that usually means that they were just one of the many and weren't good enough to break through and see the field on a regular basis. Now kids that transfer know they will have to sit a year. You've got to really want it to do that. We'll see.

I wonder if they will have to sit a year....i was thinking about this earlier and i think the UNCC guy has to sit bc its FCS to FCS. This would be FBS to FCS, kinda like Eric Davidson just some thoughts i am throwing out there

It certainly doesn't appear we need any WR transfers.

Not from my end, That's why I've not said anything yet because there wasn't enough information. I'm just hoping that, if true, it's a position we need. I see kids every day that float tweets saying they are thinking about transferring. Nothing comes from most even though I bookmark every one of them and look them up. Problem is 90% of the ones I have marked are WR's or DB's. We're not doing too bad there. I'd love to see some posts from some OL's, LB's, maybe a QB, and a 350 bulldozer NT wouldn't be bad either. ;)

Sorry, was typing when you posted this. That's why I haven't said anything about that kid from CA. As I said above we're doing pretty well at WR. Would be surprised if this was a football transfer based on what I've seen. The footage I've seen looks like an average WR, nothing to set the world on fire. 5' 10" 170, appears to be fairly average speed and quickness. Pretty normal routes. I'm just planning to keep an eye on his posts and see what happens.

Moose rivals has confirmed he is transferring, he is allowed to play right away because he has graduated from Miss. He will have one year remaining (very similar to what Russel Wilson did)

He's a DB (Safety according to his old Rivals profile). Could provide some competition for starting spot opposite Middleton. We need to get some LB's and OL in here from those type of schools

I agree but you can never have to much depth. With injuries and such, i believe the best way to help our young LB is to have a great DL and a great secondary. I feel we may have both of these this season.

definitely. I wish he had more than just 1 year left, but any help will be good. he can provide a "veteran" presence to a young secondary

And if anything he can help on special teams, i read where he played their a lot as well. As we all have watched over the years covering punts/kickoffs has not been our thing.

This allows us to redshirt another player which will be helpful for transition.

I was just thinking it would be nice if we could redshirt a lot of the incoming class so that we will have them for an extra year in transition and build our depth.

That probably will happen as we traditionally redshirt many incoming players.

Ole Miss transfer DB Frank Crawford (6' 1" 180). If you want more info look at the 2013 Recruiting page under Sports in the top menu. He's listed in the Signees section.
