Spring Tour

Unread post by ASU85Grad » Sun Apr 10, 2022 10:27 pm

There are usually post here on the MMB about the spring tour. This year I have not seen anything. Several weeks ago there was an Alumni Association event at the ASU/ UNCA game in Hickory, but I never received anything about it, nor saw anything about it here on the MMB. Are these events not being advertised as much this year.? I went to the game, but the tickets to the event with the football coaches were sold out by the time I found out about it. I was told my e Mail came back, but it is funny, every time App wants money, they never have a hard time finding me.

I attended and enjoyed myself; great venue for an event of that kind. It was fun meeting up with old friends and making some new ones. The tickets did go in a hurry. There was a pretty large crowd at the event but I believe they could've sold more tickets. Maybe the Crawdads put a limit on how many people App could invite? I'm not sure.

Some people complained about the number of servers for the buffet, but I thought the line moved fairly quickly. It wasn't as organized as I would've thought, in terms of speakers/presentations. Really expected Everts or a senior-level person from Alumni Association to make some cogent remarks to the crowd but that didn't happen. On the contrary, a decent number of folks there from the Athletics Dept showed up and some good conversations were had.

Most of the bigwigs bailed shortly after the game started, leaving their lieutenants behind to press flesh with the alums. I know Everts was at the ballpark but I don't remember seeing her at the alumni event.
