Really, that is what the post is about? It really isn't clear in the title.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 7:47 amI would venture to say his point is we have the 6th fewest losses in CFB since 2015. Just a hunch though.

Sole possession of fifth spot had WKU not took us to the woodshed in the bowl game too......Seattleapp wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 8:26 pmYour point is????BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 8:19 amReally, that is what the post is about? I remember when Jacksonville State came to Boone to see how Appalachian was built to build their program. Look at them now they have moved up to FBS. Give JSU five years. Jacksonville State could be the Appalachian State of Conference USA...https://www.al.com/sports/2021/11/jacks ... -cusa.html Maybe JSU can balance out ECU joining the Sunbelt someday.Bootsy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 7:20 pmWhat makes this even more impressive is the program's success in spite of the crazy amount of coaching turnover during that time.
Chemistry among members of coaching staff and between players and coaches is a seriously understated factor for success. It takes time to develop and with all that turnover, chemistry was uncertain.
So what made the difference between the App rising or falling while coaches came and went?
CULTURE.
Never has it made more of a difference than since 2018 when Satterfield left. No matter what happened with the coaching staff, our veteran players continued building the culture and imparting it to the younger guys. Without fail.
THAT is why we win. And THAT is why we are watched very closely by other programs, although they would never admit it.

Mentioning our name and CUSA in same context makes me nauseated. Truth is, I initially wanted us in there badly when we were considering the move up (before the 2013 exodus to AAC), even felt snubbed when some others got in there before us. However, at the time we finally moved up the SBC became the preferred path and it has worked out extremely well. I just like keeping that separation.
