The taste makers are starting to notice what the SB is doing. Better yet he’s telling the reader “if you’re dissatisfied with the way the sport is going, here’s a conference that’s doing it right”. These articles are invaluable.

McGee is writing able it. Others have written about it. Pretty soon SportsCenter anchors and college game day will mention it.

Have any of the ESPN pundits been critical of the way realignment has bloated and nationalized conferences and destroyed rivalries and traditions? Would be interesting to note, given that their network seems to be one of the primary forces driving it.

I haven’t read or heard anything openly hostile to it from the national writers, though our radio show has been openly critical. I think complementary in comparison to how other conferences are changing is the best you can hope for from the big writers.
