Looks like FAM may have a lot of players out. Drake may get his first start in a rowdy environment! Would we rather have week 0 film or get a fresh UNC team?

Just spoke with Florida A&M head football coach Willie Simmons. There are twenty players that are ineligible, be it to academics or transfer eligibility.

He said only seven offensive lineman that can travel - that’s not enough to safely play a football game.

There are a lot of rumors going on right now about the @FAMU_FB team & whether or not they will travel to North Carolina to face the Tar Heels as scheduled tomorrow.

As of now, the team still has a chartered flight scheduled for this afternoon. I'll keep you updated.

I saw that the FAMU coach said the players would vote on if they wanted to play or not but I imagine they need the 450k payout from UNC to keep the program afloat.

If this team is missing 20+ players, mainly starters, tells me this game will do more damage than good for the holes ---

That’s what I’m thinking. They don’t get a good look of their true potential. Maybe they walk the dog with FAMU and keep that tempo and mentality coming up the mountain!

I've read they'd be down bad money-wise if this gets cancelled. Because not only would they miss the 450k check, but they'd owe UNC a cancellation penalty fee, and they'd be out any non-refundable flight and hotel expenses. Apparently all of this combined would be something like 10% of FAMUs athletic budget.

Obviously FamU doesn't have enough money to pay the teachers and admin to ignore classes.... this is a travesty! Said UNC admin, I I think

The whole thing is laughable. UNC is swimming in money as well as crazy NIL money. Their players don’t go to class anyway and all this attention is on FAMU not having enough money or eligible players. The irony is staggering.
