Maye

Is the UNC-CH QB yesterday related to Mark Maye who played there years ago? Goggle Sux.
I actually went to a State v Carolina game in Kenan back around '86/87 and watched dad have a big day. It was the game where Crum had a broken leg from getting run over on the sideline and had to be carted out there.
What you just said about rare players, that is Maye for sure. He is a definite high round pick unless he just crumbles between now and next year. He has the tools.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 8:03 amThe NFL clearly makes draft decisions based on small sample sizes in many occasions- see Trubisky. For me Chase looked really good Saturday. He can run when he needs to. I want my QB to be mobile enough to get away from fast defenders and scramble for 10 yards if necessary. It's great if he can scoot 40 yards but those plays and players are rare.
You make a valid point about overthrows, but some are intentional when the receiver is covered.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 8:43 amWhat you just said about rare players, that is Maye for sure. Brice was already on lists when teams came in to Boone prior to this game but he will definitely help himself if he continues to play like this. He should get some all-star game invites, a contract, and make a practice squad. He still over throws some passes and isn't a fluid runner but he does look better.
The new OC is also benefiting Brice. Anyone who does not know formations or can't just notice changes initially while watching a game go back and watch last year and compare to Saturday. There were significant changes. If Barbay continues what we saw and develops as I think, he could be the best OC we have had in a long time.
I'm only talking about the hand full of times the receiver was open and he just put too much on it. I remember one one time the receiver was going to the sideline and he was open but Brice put way too much on it. I'm not sure what he was thinking on the interception because he literally threw that right to the defender. Could have been a case of a messed up route but unless we know what the play call was it is hard to know if that was completely on Brice or the receiver as well.NewApp wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 9:41 amYou make a valid point about overthrows, but some are intentional when the receiver is covered.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 8:43 amWhat you just said about rare players, that is Maye for sure. I'll take your word for it, but sometimes he is about to get slammed. Luckily he can take a hit better than some QB's. Just a thought.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 9:48 amI'm only talking about the hand full of times the receiver was open and he just put too much on it. I remember two bad throws from the game. The one above and a screen pass to Noel on 3rd and long. It was the perfect play call. Noel could have walked in to the end zone. But Brice threw a rocket from 5 feet away and Noel couldn't hang on. But two bad throws out of 36 is good. Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady have more than that every week.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 9:48 amI'm only talking about the hand full of times the receiver was open and he just put too much on it. Not all of his over throws I would put on him but he still floats it some. All QBs do it at some point but he had a few that I guarantee he wants back because he knows they should have been complete. Sometimes he is indeed about to get hit and while he takes hits well, like you said, you don't want him to take them.NewApp wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 10:02 amI'll take your word for it, but sometimes he is about to get slammed.
