College Game Day Is Coming To BOONE!

I'm sure one of you stat geeks can find this- what is the win percentage over the last 10 years or so for teams who hosted Game Day? I always think back to the Miami game when we had a pep rally and had all of the hoopla. I really expect the team to be focused but the outside noise worries me sometimes.

183 wins to 131 losses by schools hosting GameDay since it started in 1993. I hand counted each game, so my numbers might be a little off.

I agree with all the cupcake posts on this thread so far, but hopefully there are a bunch of huge cupcake cutouts and signs referring to it so Herbstreit can't escape it!

This is what I want to see. Too many baked cupcakes may piss Herby off enough to make him really hate us and continue to badmouth/belittle us

yeah I googled after posting and sure enough, Wiki has a page with every location. Lol, wiki is wonderful. Who takes the time to do that?

I figured it would be Sanford but was really hoping it would be more towards the action on the west side of campus. I was thinking about this last year and hear me out, but what if we closed a section of Rivers street in front of Duncan. Those parking in COB or Schaefer lot can come in from the depot street side and those accessing stadium drive come up Rivers from the east.

Stage set up with optimum views of COB, Duncan, Rankin tailgating, central campus, duck pond/yosef/stadium in the background with new dorms and all that energy. Flat as well for people to stand, lighting, and semi-truck logistics. Nice part of campus imo and no parking is lost.

I know it would be a traffic fiasco, but it always is. Just communicate and come early.

I'd have them set up near the stadium. Over by The Rock and State side stands. Close down Stadium Dr and have an awesome mass of humanity stretching from Jerry Moore Plaza all the way down to what's left of the Duck Pond area.

Remember that GameDay starts at 9:00 is over at noon. They should have roaming cameras in the tailgate lots but most of the action will be near the set. Still plenty of time after GameDay to tailgate and get to the stadium. Hard to close Stadium Dr. when many of us have to use it get to our parking space.

Assuming it will be in the mall area, if so wished it would be closer to the tailgate areas. But we don't really have that big concentration of tailgating without the big parking lot.

An acquaintance (who lives in Charlotte) worked in Austin for GameDay this weekend, told me they need a grassy area to set up. This allows them to drive anchors and the like into the ground to secure the set up. If that is the case, I expect Sanford Mall or in the middle of the new dorms will be the spot.

My freshman daughter just sent me a screen shot of a message she got from AD. It is on Sanford, and fans can begin arriving at 5:00 a.m.!!! Doesn’t say what time the lots open specifically. Now imagine 10k students getting started 10.5 hours prior to kickoff!!! lol

No one has thrown out Zach Galifinakis yet. I know he's a NC state guy but grew up in Wilkesboro. Everyone knows Galifinakis/he's a pretty funny dude on camera.
