No they weren’t. We were favored by 7 pointsNewApp wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 7:13 pmThere are some nice and intelligent posters on here, but some of you suck at mind reading talking about what coaches were thinking. We lost the game. The season is not over. This is the same coaching staff that scored over 60 points on the Heels and beat A&M. JMU was favored by Vegas.

JMU is what Aoo was in 2007-09…. A team with a chip on its shoulder.. Used to winning, and could simply beat anybody in the country.
The Dukes are going to be 7-0 playing Louisville…. Probably in the top 15

Just an observation. It was a good weekend for QBs that can extend plays and beyond that, make things more difficult for defenses. It's a weapon we don't possess.

He could extend the play with his legs but his arm is much better. Would like to see QB1 run an option play or two to mix it up.

Not at all, IMO he is the best passer and long ball thrower we have had since I started watch App State football in 1984. Just believe some designed QB runs would help O line keep a clean pocket to hit deep shots.Seattleapp wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 9:02 pmSo we are done with Brice now? Something we badly need. If Alabama can figure that out and go for mobile guys then so can we. There’s too much upside to not. They don’t need to be Lamar Jackson like but god bless, Chase has no mobility at all.

Maybe we are afraid to risk QB1 injury. No one knows what we have in our backups. Hope QB2 And QB3 take some live snaps next weekend.

Brice is our guy.We have to gameplan to his strengths and that is slinging it downfield .Opens up the run if it works.Do we have the pass protectors up front? We will find out. Thomas and Lamb could make you pay on the RPO and designed runs . Made us a lot harder to defend. The JMU qb ran for 60 some yards including some conversions and a touchdown and roughly doubled at QBR.Made a difference.

Re: How’s it feel…? Post-JMU
Every year I read these ridiculous posts after a loss. It happened earlier after a loss to UNC; now yesterday all over again. Fire the coaches, revamp the football program, losing 10 games, etc. I remember a decade or so ago that APP beat Michigan at their house, lost 2 games in a row, and then won a National Championship.
Yesterday was a bad loss, but not the end. I don't see JMU wining the Sun Belt; they are likely to hit a wall very soon.
Coming into the season, ASU defense was known to have gaps; fix the cracks and right the ship!!! I don't believe in sinking or giving up.
Did I like yesterday, far from it!! Will I continue to be behind the Mountaineers - oh yes!!! I'll be there this weekend, even if it rains.
Don't get hyped by Media -- look what these fools do to politics (only an example, not asking to change the thread)
I know we will see improvement -- I will resurrect this post end of season and compare notes!!!

Lambs arm strength was average to put it kindly and Thomas couldn’t hit the broad side of the barn.Stonewall wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 11:11 pmBrice is our guy.We have to gameplan to his strengths and that is slinging it downfield .Opens up the run if it works.Do we have the pass protectors up front? You’ll never get any traction on this board with reasonable takes like thisnjcarr wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 11:58 pmEvery year I read these ridiculous posts after a loss. Re: How’s it feel…? Post-JMU
Not the most mobile we have had but he didn't really need to be if the OL had done their job. They didn't. My best guess is that will improve. That is what needs to be looked at rather than wishing the guy you have was different. The coaches know what he can do and game plan for that. If his support does not do their jobs that is on them not on him. It is pretty tough to throw a decent pass on your back.

There is no way to know how well the o-line did with our 4th and 5th backs playing the entire 2nd half. I like Marshall, but with no Peoples, Noel or Harrington, what is the likelihood we can have sustained drives?bcoach wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 8:46 amNot the most mobile we have had but he didn't really need to be if the OL had done their job. Oh I don't know maybe one way to know is to look at how many times our QB is on his back.sixtoes9134 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 8:50 amThere is no way to know how well the o-line did with our 4th and 5th backs playing the entire 2nd half.
