Why on Earth is this thread now talking about inflation?

Re: Duncan and Legends Parking Gone
The intellectual dishonesty of describing 8% inflation as a “bit” high is a travesty to basic math and economic principles.
It’s also insulting that you believe the general public is dumb enough to entertain such an idea.

Re: Duncan and Legends Parking Gone
I was not referring to current inflation in the original post, but making a comment about having some inflation is considered desirable compared to having other situations such as deflation. I only brought up current numbers in a rebuttal. It is possible I could have been clearer with a bit longer post but I was on a phone and thought it clear enough for someone that, I assume, passed some English classes at App State. You are twisting around way more than needs to be twisted with my words.
For the record I do appreciate not having the same levels of inflation as the UK is going through right now, and most of the other advanced economies of the world. But I also appreciate not having deflation as an ongoing concern.
I'll try and restate for a GaSo graduate.
Some inflation - not so bad. Deflation - generally bad. 8% inflation not an ideal situation, though it could be good for the environment. (My apologies for using a 4 syllable word on the last sentence.)
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

40 year high inflation, no amount of spin can save you.
Low blow on the GS comment, but that’s what you need to do once the argument is lost.

Your post about 70% of corporate profits is straight from a political echo chamber versus using basic principles you claim to have studied.

Re: Duncan and Legends Parking Gone
I've noticed there has been a 27% increase in the inflation rate of egos on the board this year. I'm not sure how we can control it. We tried raising the interest in the board, but the highly inflated egos just inflated more, forcing the interest to drop back down. We tried getting a loan from ESPN to pay off our debts and help our interest rates, but that just caused higher ego inflation rates which caused a mini-recession. We just keep building up so much inflation we are losing sight of what made us who we are. I just hope we are ready when the bubble eventually bursts.

These corporations just realized they could raise prices and increase profits? Brilliant, wonder why that didn’t try that earlier?HighlandsApp wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 1:28 pmNo. It is from economic data research from majority of economists.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 1:20 pmYou are describing a symptom of inflation not the disease. Your post about 70% of corporate profits is straight from a political echo chamber versus using basic principles you claim to have studied.
Saying 70% is from corporate pricing is lazy quite honestly.
- Supply chains are broken from policies from the past two decades.
- we locked down everything for far too long (both parties, although one took it further)
- we provided too many rounds of stimulus (both parties), this also occurred globally
- we then threw a match on it with our energy and foreign policy decisions
There is a lot of blame to go around and to downplay how bad it is for the general public is troubling, inflation and increased energy costs hit the poorest of our citizens the hardest.

Is it the full service hotel/meeting area similar to Broyhill? If so, I guess I can see the benefits, but the Broyhill has been gone for how many years now, and seems to be going fine?

Can y’all imagine how a hotel beside DBI will work? The lines will extend all the way to the Turchin Center.

Could make a Huge Bigger name for Boone and the high country more relevant with bold real green structures but bold architecture has gone dormant in this country for 40 + years.
