Barbay to the box
Clark just said that Barbay was moved from the field to the coach's box for the ODU game and will remain there for the trip to Statesboro.

Better late than never I guess. It is nice to see changes and progress. Although, staying aggressive in the 2nd half would have still been preferred.

Yeah that 2nd half didn’t look good. Did like to see us trying to get the ball to Noel in space. I really hope we work on getting our backs more involved in the passing game. If we can do that we can stop so much aggressive play by the backers and safeties.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 12:26 pmBetter late than never I guess. It is nice to see changes and progress. Additionally, it was good to hear that castle and noel should be good to go. Cam should be good for a bowl game if we reach one. Should be no excuse to burn Roberts' redshirt.

This is my rose colored view on what we saw Saturday, it was clear we could score at will in the air. So second half we were working on the ground game and short yardage situations which have plagued us this year.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 12:30 pmYeah that 2nd half didn’t look good. I think that Roberts has only played in two games so far, so he could play in both (hopefully) remaining games and keep his redshirt.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 12:37 pmAdditionally, it was good to hear that castle and noel should be good to go. Ok, I’ll give you that view. Once you choose to go that route I guess you have to stay committed and eat clock because we damn sure weren’t threatening to put points on the board. A couple more incomplete passes would have added to the uncomfortable finish.appbio91 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 12:58 pmThis is my rose colored view on what we saw Saturday, it was clear we could score at will in the air. Re: Barbay to the box
Seems like we had a big weekend for recruits against ODU, more specifically the 2023 O line class. Anyone have any intel? There were 3 or 4 2023 O lineman on campus that we seem to be going after hard. Would be nice to land one or 2. Geep seems likable and a good recruiter, not certain about coaching though.

I saw two OL JUCO recruit on social media. The posts seemed positive for us and not just your typical "thank you for the invite" post. We seem to be recruiting JUCO players very hard this year, which is a good thing in my opinion.311neers wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 1:17 pmSeems like we had a big weekend for recruits against ODU, more specifically the 2023 O line class. Because they see they may get some quick playing time if they come here.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 2:22 pmI saw two OL JUCO recruit on social media. We didn’t go conservative because we had a lead. We went conservative because we had control. There is a difference. When you are dictating tempo, there isn’t a reason to create a situation where you can lose it.

We are gonna need it with many seniors leaving. This is essentially the "transfer portal" but they all have 2-3 years of eligibility left and will be coming in with an associates degree, so no worries about transfer credits.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 2:42 pmBecause they see they may get some quick playing time if they come here.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 2:22 pmI saw two OL JUCO recruit on social media. 1. But....Going full out would possibly have gotten some of our boys hurt. Some say that injuries are more frequent and severe when the athlete is overly tired.
2. Gave some opportunity for more players to get some PT.
Just My opinion.

Re: Barbay to the box
Nobody on our current O line should come into training camp as a pre determined starter. We need some serious competition for all 5 of those spots. And I sure hope we do get some ready to play juco transfers. To be clear I’m not saying the returning starters can’t turn into the guys we need but they need to be pushed hard in the off season. NO SAFE SPOTS!!AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 2:42 pmBecause they see they may get some quick playing time if they come here.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 2:22 pmI saw two OL JUCO recruit on social media.
