What happened to Pinckney and Boston? Late scratches? I know Pinckney had injuries, did he just hang it up?

Clark said Pinckney is taking a medical hardship because of multiple lower body injuries. Not sure about Boston.

I was excited to see what Boston could do for us. Hate he is gone, makes you wonder if he had an injury, or just couldn’t cut it on the Mountain with Coach Matt.

Also hate it for Pinckney. He seemed to really try to battle through these injuries, it just never panned out.

It is unfortunate for Pinckney. People often forget that the hardest part of recovering from an injury is the mental side. Think about the folks that are traumatized by being in a car accident after being in one. Even years after the physical injuries have healed.

It’s also a cautionary tale for us fans that put our own expectations on these kids to live up to the hype that we create from them joining “our team”.

Damn, GAS is going to have to re-do the countdown with all these changes

Spellman and Hopper breakout seasons incoming? Have a lot of bodies now in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

The trenches are where games are won and lost the most so I was thrilled to see Shawn add so many on both lines. I just hope they are as good as the expectations. It would be something if we are two-deep on the OL and 3-deep on the DL. Between that and the improvements in S&C I am very optimistic for this year.

FWIW, Sloan said (in his public interview) that Spellman was challenged by the staff to improve his grades in the spring and summer, which he did.

I heard the coaches mention Spellman. Any news about progress of Hopper?

He is suppose to be added by the end of this week supposedly. We will see if that happens.

I hope Red joins us. He may not add much on the field, but it would be horrible for him to lose out on the team (and a scholarship I am assuming) at this juncture.

HCSC says we are two deep on both lines.Good sign.

Maybe we can get Roy Cooper to pen a letter to the NCAA.

Don't see Anthony Red in the media guide or on the roster....do we know what happened?

I know what's going on but that information was given to me in confidence. I believe things will be figured out soon and the information will probably come out in time. As for now, his status is on hold.
