After sitting there for the first time it was very good. Though the top row was key for shade and view. Wished we had something there permanent.

Agreed. That area looks more complete with the bleachers there.

Don't think we are say the bleachers themselves should be there. Build something permanent.

There is no question that the bleachers in the NEZ look so much better than just having a field access area and it allows more butts in seats. I know the NEZ ticket holders were promised field access as part of the perks but sometimes things change. The first place we should add more seats is in the north end zone.

Here’s the thing and yes, it’s the same “thing”. That area underneath the stands serves a purpose to the athletic department and the University in ways other than game days. And I’m not talking about practice space. Putting permanent seats there solves a 6 day a year want. But in doing so, stifles a need for the other 361 days.

I still say field level suites/boxes. Premium seating, which there's a wait list for; more $$ than regular GA endzone seating, and it fills in that area which I agree IMO looks much better than having it open and empty.

That area is open for a reason and it’s not solely for NEZ ticket holders. So until they find a suitable alternative for the lost space it isn’t an option.

What's the reason it's open? I didn't know, and now I'm curious.

Don’t mess with the NEZ ticket holders.

As an example of why the NEB can't be there permanently...

Football is the only team on campus with scheduled use of the indoor facility until after ECU game. So, not only does it take away practice space from football, it, in turn, takes practice space away from ALL sports should they need to schedule the indoor facility (weather and ad hoc requests are still in play)..

Until they can figure out a way to cost effectively, efficiently, quickly, and safely be able to remove the bleachers after a football game, it won't be something we see every game..

And the promise of field access to NEZ ticket holders is the smallest of reasons..

The University uses it for cocktail hour for events that are occurring in the Ballroom, as well as, an outdoor setting for events. It provides cover and plenty of room for setup of tables and concessions. The football team also uses it after practice for meals and ice bath parties. The area also has naming rights attached. I believe it is called the Hatley Pavillon.

Good point, but are you just trolling those of us that enjoy math as you invent days in the year?

Agree. I don’t really care if I have the access or not. I do like being on the field in pregame but other than that, I don’t care. But it was sold as part of the price. As was the overhang that wasn’t built. If they take it away, there would need to be some form of negotiation.

I was under the impression that no other teams used KBS for practice any more. Is that not true? Hopefully in the not to distant future we will have a new indoor practice facility with more space. As for the cocktail hours and outdoor seating, I am pretty sure there is a large balcony on the backside of the building that could easily accommodate those functions equally as well. The naming rights could easily be transferred to any seating area and all the NEZ ticket holders could be given the options of agreeing to the change or opt out and be off the hook so to say. I have no doubt that any NEZ ticket holder that choose to opt out would quickly be filled by another fan wanting those seats. Truthfully, this isn't something that can be done quickly and I bet by the time the money was in place, all the NEZ contracts would be up anyways. Just saying that it makes the most sense for new permanent seating and it looks way better.

Looks better having the seating below the NEZ seats. Was never a fan of the open area, especially when the OCD in me already cringes with the building being off center.

However, if the open space is needed and actually utilized for many other purposes, then it does make sense
