I was wondering the same. He was impressive last year and there have certainly been times when a bigger back would have been helpful. If injured, I hope he heals quickly. It would be great to have him available.

He had a fall camp injury, but we have Nate Noel and the young man, Haywood is getting carries also. And now (as long as avoids fumbling) Roberts finding carries with success also. No need to RB by platoon system.

I'd bet Marshall will be available for conference games.

Looked like it got in for at least one offensive snap against ECU but did not get the carry.

The injury wasn’t severe but limits cutting. Not an issue with straight line stuff.

Feel like if Marshall is back healthy, he should be in the rotation with his experience and keep Roberts under 4 games to redshirt

Roberts red shirted last year. Calhoun is the true Freshman this year.

Glad to hear his injury isn't severe. I do 100% agree that we have weapons to use until he is healthy. I don't want to risk him until he's ready. I absolutely think we will need him at some point and I want him at 100% when that time comes. We are blessed with RB depth but it's a tough position and there are almost always going to be injuries or at least dings during the season so that depth will be needed.

My best guess is that the running back rotation the past two years led to multiple guys being dinged up at once. So if you roll with two guys at a time, with a bell cow, you preserve those further down the depth chart. If Nate makes it through 2023 healthy, great. But if we can at least get him until Castle comes back, then maybe you can begin rotating some more guys in.

I wonder if the weather could also play a minor role. UNC and ECU games have both been wet late in the game. Seems like that could lead to a re tweak if not careful.

More than anything (and I don’t understand why people keep beating this dead horse) is that we have a RB leading the FBS in yards per game. Why remove the best RB if he isn’t injured or out of energy?

Hard to limit Nate while he's tearing it up just to keep another player happy. Marshall will get his soon enough. If that rotation last year wasn't due to limited backs it got ridiculous.

I heard Avery say on the App-ECU broadcast that it usually takes 15-20 carries just to get the RB lathered up to do his best work.

After watching the offense this year I can see that HCSC is doing things a bit different and RB rotation is one of them. Nate is the hot RB so we are feeding him until he needs a rest or a change of pace is called for. This also could just be b/c there isn't anyone else at the moment and Kanye isn't fully ready

Clark hasn't changed anything. Nate worked his ass off to change his body to allow for the cow bell role. In years past, we didn't have a RB primed for that role.

From my experience of being a superior athlete, I find that the more I play, the more focused I stay and the looser my body stays. Too much time of not playing, I get tight and tend to lose focus. Keep Nate focused and loose so he continues to dominate like me.
