Where are we at as Appalachian football?
We may win ….probably not but we’re in full reeling mode . Just not very good football my observation.

Dreading the idea that this program is going to wander into middling to bad purgatory a la the Stink the last few years. It's a program momentum killer.

We hired the feel good story looking for a guy who’d never leave us.
We hired the guy the players wanted.
We didn’t even bother doing a coaching search.
Promoting Clark is the biggest blunder of Doug Gillin’s tenure.
And no, having our assesses saved by a field goal from the parking lot doesn’t change my mind.

Teams need to learn how to win and not lose. Last week they learned that simply outplaying an opponent doesn't ensure a win, this week we had our first lesson in winning. Hopefully this pays great dividends in the future.

People out there in the cabin are all “f u haters” but we just won be the grace of god to a trash ass horrible team in year 4 of the coach’s tenure.APPdiesel wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 10:16 pmWe hired the feel good story looking for a guy who’d never leave us.

Went to Raleigh today for our other son's Parents weekend. Last year it was on the JMU game. Almost dejavu. Had to follow the game on my phone on the ride back. Needless to say I made zero comments during the game. Some of you morons should try to wait until the game is over before spouting off the same crap every week.

I watched the game at a neighbors house. I live in Charleston and almost all my neighbors are gamecock fans. When the game finished I looked like I’d been beaten up. And I realized that the program went from a damn good team not just for a sunbelt team but just good, to a mediocre g5 team. I look at my gamecock buddy and just asked him, how do you do it? Just celebrating mediocrity?

This right here. We are in YEAR FOUR of the Shawn Clark experience. The COVID/recruiting/coaching turnover excuses are gone. Yeah, he won, but it shouldn’t have been that close. If App reels off 3-4 straight wins from here, I’ll gladly marinate that crow undone Dale’s. However, I was not inspired by tonight’s game.yosef69 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 10:55 pmPeople out there in the cabin are all “f u haters” but we just won be the grace of god to a trash ass horrible team in year 4 of the coach’s tenure.APPdiesel wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 10:16 pmWe hired the feel good story looking for a guy who’d never leave us.

Lol I watched the game with a neighbor who’s a gamecock. They’re on a whole other plane of existence during football season.mtoddsolomon wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 11:25 pmI watched the game at a neighbors house. This is really the only answer to the question of the thread.mtoddsolomon wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 11:25 pmI watched the game at a neighbors house. Re: Where are we at as Appalachian football?
Tonight’s escape gives them a chance in the next three games to hopefully string together some wins.
However, the last 4 games of the season are brutal.
In the big picture, it’s a bit hard to have confidence long term with what I’ve witnessed in last 20 or so games.
