If we had something like that, then we could all be good fans.

Communism is only a theory, not anything in practice. A very misused word.

Communist typically use this to explain its “benefits”. Yet every time a regime attempts to implement communism it eventually turns authoritarian. It’s not the goal of the theory but thus far has been a byproduct.hapapp wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 7:53 pmCommunism is only a theory, not anything in practice. A very misused word.

Didn't you just say in a previous post to put people om ignore? Sounds like inhibiting free speech to advise members to put people on ignore..Saint3333 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 9:49 amImagine taking this board so seriously you attempt to silence others. Inhibiting free speech would be not allowing them to post. Using the ignore feature is allowing you to make the choice. Not the same in any way.NewApp wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 11:51 pmDidn't you just say in a previous post to put people om ignore? So a thread about the head football coach finally eclipsing 50 pages has evolved into a debate over free speech, Communism, etc. The blowhards in this group never cease to amaze me.

Pretty clear that App Football is done for the year. But then again, past experience has shown this type of conversation (complete with ad hominem attacks, recriminations, etc.) are liable to pop here at anytime here.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 7:30 amSo a thread about the head football coach finally eclipsing 50 pages has evolved into a debate over free speech, Communism, etc. The blowhards in this group never cease to amaze me.

Re: #TeamClark
This is very true because to achieve it everything would need to be state run and property would need to be seized, seen by most as authoritarian. Thus my point remains.hapapp wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 6:30 amThere are no true communist countries, never have been, never will be.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 9:23 pmCommunist typically use this to explain its “benefits”. I don’t think a message board can be communist or authoritarian. I think it’s more of a Theocracy.

Socialism is when the state owns all the property and has control of the means of production.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 8:14 amThis is very true because to achieve it everything would need to be state run and property would need to be seized, seen by most as authoritarian. If you count "asterisks" toward #TeamClark, then let's count them for every HEAD COACH on the mountain and EVERY PLAYER THAT PLAYED 5 years and padded their stats, and the AD that inherited a football program that was already winning.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 11:58 amI have given credit for how well this team under Clark turned things around. 4 years as the Boss:
3 Bowl wins
winning 66% of his games
2 SBC east Titles
3 Top 25 wins!
Best G5 coach in America!!
Three bowl wins, I guess that's true. But '19 was Drink's team. '20 was verses a N. Texas team that but for COVID would not have been bowl eligible. Yesterday was a very good bowl win.
Winning 66% of his games is true. It is also true that a huge number of his wins were against FCS schools or teams that ended their seasons with loosing records. Still very few wins against winning teams.
And yes we won the East this year, but only technically. JMU was the best team in the division.
A third of those top 25 wins was against a wildly overrated A&M team (which ended its season with a loosing record).
If context matters when Clark is criticized, it should matter when he's called "the best G5 coach in America".
I give credit to him for the turnaround and look forward to him coaching in 2024.
