I'm sorry but this post must come with an * as this thread was artificially inflated and needs to be tested for bump post injections. You will most likely be black balled from the cabin HOF.

7 Bowl wins since moving FBS in 2014 and #TeamClark has won 3 of them. 3-1

We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

It is definitely the litmus test. Shawn is doing some really good things but the expectation is higher with Joey and the stars coming back plus it looks like we will return both coordinators. Everts still wants him gone so there is some pressure but we have what we need to win 9-10 in regular season and if we can add some key pieces in the portal then perhaps we can win 11 or more.

Can’t do it, he’s one of the ones just waiting for things to go south. Then he can trip over himself to be the first one to get on here and say “told you so.” It’s tiring and annoying.

GO APPS!!

and a whole bunch of us want Everts gone. I would be more than happy to warm up her broom.

Agreed. Is she set to retire this year due to her age? I feel like Shawn will be so relived the day she is gone.

I see you post this about "Everts still wants him gone". Where is this information coming from. I just think she is way to good to say or let anyone know this publicly. My thought is you are just saying things to see if it sticks with no real evidence.

Be careful what you wish for. She is a huge supporter of Athletics , which has cost her tremendously with the faculty. The odds of bringing in a Chancellor that shares her passion for college sports are long. She was the driving force behind the upgrade of the Sunbelt( or so I was told by the Commissioner)Frankly , I don’t think she “ wants Shawn gone”. However my take , and yes I have spoken to her directly, is that she will not tolerate what she believes is poor performance, or results. But yes I don’t expect her to stay on beyond another year or two. Her departure in my opinion will bring about a very dangerous time for the athletic program.

Ask any of the insiders who know the staff or her and they will tell you her actions have been clear she is not a big fan of him.

Agreed. I have worked at other universities, and what will happen is they usually go for the complete opposite in the next chancellor. If one is perceived as not faculty friendly, heavy on athletics/police, you can imagine what different sections of the campus community will push for in a new chancellor.

I'm under the assumption she is nowhere near done. Though I have noticed quite a few other chancellors in the state retiring/leaving.

I feel like we got to see what Clark is like when the pressure is off. Given the end this season, I hope he feels pressure for the rest of his time in Boone.

I think general pressure will always be there because the standard is so high. Those who know him well say he puts pressure on himself because he wants to bring titles to his alma mater so much as well.

A lot of Michigan fans wanted to fire Harbaugh because he could only win 8 or 9 games. Good thing they didn't.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

Very true! When you have their resources I can see why they have such high standards but you have to be patient because we know Jim is a really good coach because he has shown it before so it was foolish to not give him time. With Shawn he had never been a head coach and we were coming off a top 25 finish with the ability to hit the portal to restock quicker than before. We really had a lot of bad misses in our 2020 and 2021 classes but luckily Shawn won enough to come back and now we can really see what the staff can do with the HC and coordinators all back along with top stars, including a really good QB.
