On Furmans 3rd touchdown, Ingle Martin got leveled by Cory Lynch just as he crossed the goal line.
On the four downs that we held in the 3rd Quarter, the sun was on the field, there was no ice, Ingle Martin just cut with the wrong foot (there is a slomo replay) on 3rd down and he did not get his cleat down evenly on the turf. Felton got leveled on 4th down by Hunter and Banks.
Even though he made some mistakes, Trey Elders first play from scrimmage and the last touchdown were phenomenal. Our defense came up big. I was there and it was an awesome game.

What an awesome game. I was a sophomore at App at the time. When we stripped Ingle Martin at the end, I was going so crazy I fell off the bleachers
To this day I swear that goal line stop on Jerome Felton is the ONLY time in 4 years we stopped him for no gain.
Man, what a game, and what a fun time that was.
GO APPS!!

I remember thinking after the game that it was my favorite sporting event I had ever attended in person. A fairly short list at the time.
Still pretty high on the list. Tough to top the collective out-of-body experience that stadium had when App forced that fumble at the end and (almost) ran it back at the end. I remember we got a celebration penalty and everyone around me was screaming "throw the flag, throw the flag!" because nobody cared.

Still my favorite game. After all the years of either missing the playoffs or not advancing far we were FINALLY going to play for a national championship. And the excitement in the parking lot after the game was off the charts.

Furman still sucks.
I hopped up on the ticket booth to help get the goalpost clear of the fence on the way out. I believe this was my first App State field rush (I arrived in 2003).

Took me down the rabbit hole and ended up at this one which I don't think I've seen this before.

We need to schedule Furman and Western Carolina - maybe rotate them every other year.

Jerome Felton was a damn tank. No wonder he made the Pro Bowl. And he was a sophomore that year. Ain't no arm-tackling him.
I was front row on the 10 yard line near the hill. Noon game. It was right around freezing. Peacock encouraged us to tear down the goalpost, saying they were replacing them anyway.
Ingle's arm was not going forward. And get off the field Bobby!

Probably my all time favorite football game. It’s right up there with the Miracle on the Mountain.

Told my roommate, when RW went down, that they need to let TE throw 1st play and he delivered. Epic game!
Remember marching the FG post into the student union…haha

Glory Days. Was at miracle on the mountain 2002, sat 50 yard line east side 10 rows up, epic-miracle on the mountain started it all. I stormed the field 10 minutes after game was over, by myself. 2003 beat Georgia Southern, was there, after taking goal posts down they were accidentally crashed into GS bus window. Was at regular season game in 2004 when Richie Williams completed 28 passes in a row and ran for last second score against Furman. The standard is set. Watched the 2005 Furman playoff game on TV, another miracle. Made it to all 3 nattys in Chattanooga. Tickets were easy to get in 2005, 2006. After the wolverine win in 2007, almost impossible to find a ticket against Delaware. Don't give up on the mountaineers. Still a lot to play for.
