Hard to see

Unread post by Mjohn1988 » Thu Oct 26, 2023 6:34 pm

Watching GA State and Southern. They just put the conference standings on the screen. Sure is hard to see that block A at the very bottom. Really makes things hit home.

It's also hard to see why there so many empty seats in Statesboro tonight. I guess App is the only one they come to see.

But yes our team on the bottom of the list stings.

Noticed the empty seats there too. 19k if I had to guess. Most Stink grads are working night shift at Family Dollar so I’m sure they don’t show well during weeknight games.

Is the cheat code for G5 teams to hit the portal for Juniors or Seniors? Be able to bring that immediate impact and experience to a team. Honestly both of these teams look much more composed than App and that’s tough to type.

Yes Georgia Southern alum can't stay out too late tonight. Trash pickup begins in Statesboro too early on Friday.

I was thinking the same. More physical too.

Not sure if anyone still watching. GaSo just threw 76 yd touchdown pass. The most impressive part was the receiver held on to the ball with both hands tight when defense got close. Im more impressed with that than the pass.

19k for a Sun Belt game better than every Sun Belt team besides App, Marshall and JMU I’m guessing

Our boys better be ready for the rest of the season. We will have to be physical and mistake free.

We can beat both of those teams, and I expect us to do just that.

ESPN gives GS a 49% to win in Boone. As of tonight. Interesting.
It will not be easy.

The jokes about so few people in the stands are great, but the reality is almost funnier. There weren't any Southern alumni at the game because they are all taking off work Friday to go down to Jacksonville for the Florida-Georgia game. No exaggeration, I saw 5 people on my Facebook who graduated from Georgia Southern posting pictures of themselves at the beach or heading to Jacksonville.
Y'all think the App football-UNC basketball fan is awful? It's nothing compared to the Southern alumni- UGA fan.

Think about this- Georgia Southern has an enrollment roughly 2,000 students above App State, yet they barely topped 19k for a night game against a rival. So, App may lose on the field in November, but we will win in the stands.

This is where we are at, claiming victory on attendance numbers.

I used to really follow the Hornets (the original team). In those early years at the old Charlotte Coliseum they regularly led the league in attendance...but kind of sucked on the court. The attendance banner isn't one to be that proud of.

There was heavy talk about Georgia State hosting College GameDay next week at home versus JMU if they won, as it would be 7-1 vs 8-0 if JMU beats ODU on Saturday. The JMU/GSU game was selected for 3:30 p.m. on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.

Once again, Georgia Southern ruins things.
