Troy may not make the coming NCAA divisional cut. Tulane more likely and that’s where the TV money will be.

I don’t know that they will make that “cut”.

I’m interested to see how many of the current 64 P5 (4) schools buy in.

I think that it would be viewed as if LSU carries the N.O. media market.

I agree LSU carries the N.O. and Alabama-Auburn and carries the Troy market. And the Holes might carry the Boone market

. The leftovers in N.O. probably better than most any of the Sunbelt markets.

Keep in mind, establishing the trust to pay players isn’t designed to realign conferences. The intent is to establish a different set of rules for those that opt in. So a school like App can establish a trust and guys like Ricks and Sofield can fund it. But it doesn’t provide the opportunity to move up the ladder to more revenue through a better paying conference.
I’m not saying that realignment couldn’t be a bye-product of this, but that isn’t what the proposal says. That is where it gets tricky.

As I understand it , BOT has voiced consensus and asked for a plan to implement the requirements. Was told a handful of Sunbelt schools likely to do the same.

That’s good to hear. It’s a catch 22 really. You either spend more to remain where you are or you don’t and fall back. Some of the P5s can afford to do that. Others may not want to.

Wondering how the Conference survives if some do and some don’t.

I figure a merger or trade with the “some dos” from CUSA.

Might make sense. I have no idea what their capabilities are except for Liberty.
