Game Balls: Cure Bowl
Now I can enjoy bowl season. I do not have the numbers, and I’m a little too over-celebrated to go look, but my game ball has to go to the guy from down the road (we’re from a small town, we don’t have many streets). Anderson Castle put the game away when we needed it. A mudder for sure. Great job!

Helms for stealing that fumbled ball back.
Robinson for catching everything thrown his way, including punts.

Team ball goes to this entire team. Been an up and down season but great way to finish it off.

Anderson Castle, WATAUGA HIGH SCHOOL GRAD, eclipsed the century mark in rushing yards and at a clip of 6 yards per carry.
D held them to less than 250 total yards.

Re: Game Balls: Cure Bowl
Do you guys think that our coaches take attitude and work ethic into consideration? Not to assume that certain players have any attitude issue but maybe Castle simply worked his tail off and earned it.
And I publicly take back my down the street comment.

Re: Game Balls: Cure Bowl
It would be stupid not to take that into account…. Effort and hard work always matters. That’s why some players never reach their full potential here and why some overlooked guys shine.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 7:37 pmDo you guys think that our coaches take attitude and work ethic into consideration? Hopper, he got a big sack early and recovered a fumble. Very disruptive until his mental error.

K-Rob, Castle, Joey. Entire defense. Oline minus 4th and 1 blocking. Makai Jackson had a good game despite the early drop. Punter had a solid game.

I really think we would have smoked them in good weather. But I’ll take it…

Re: Game Balls: Cure Bowl
Agreed. We moved the ball pretty well, given the circumstances.

Hughes was solid on his two field goals.
Props to the long snapper and holder as well.
Great job in the weather conditions.

Yes…it did not make me feel warm and fuzzy. Just my opinion, but we may have very well seen K Rob play his last game in Black & Gold

Re: Game Balls: Cure Bowl
Ours is a little ways down the article but a nice write up. They say Joey for game mvp passing 211 and rushing a td.
I could roll with castle because without that performance we don't move the ball. I credit 211 passing yards to our quality recievers, Joey's hand strength, and fly paper gloves they all wear.
