My first Army assignment was Augsburg, Germany. I would have remained a lieutenant my entire career had the Army let me stay there. If you are ever in Munich and have some time, make the 30 min drive west on the A8.

Family and I are supposed to go in that area middle southern Germany next year to visit some friends who are moving to that area next month (one of the friends is originally from Germany). So I'll have to see where I can make it. My wife is already trying to plan all the excursions.
