18 hours notice and no indication how much tickets are, except for $80 for ECU because it's in the example used.

I’ve already bought 8 for $65 per on Clemson’s site. Way up high but together on the App bench side, 45ish yard line.

Three business days seems customary for most transactions.

There's going to be some really mad App fans on Tuesday when they check their email spam folder.

A week's notice would be good. You're dealing with people who have to make travel plans, maybe take off work, etc. A college athletics department can never overcommunicate, just like they do on that Jeep raffle.

I can get behind the extended window of notice and the pricing information, but who needs to take time off and plan vacation to order tickets? If you are referencing that they need to know if they have tickets to the game to make plans, OK. I can understand that but that only comes in to play for Clemson. Additionally, the timing of of announcement is typically made after all opponents have provided allotment #s and prices. Maybe they just got them all late last week.

On the other hand, folks have known the date of the games for a month or so. If they needed to make plans, that should have probably been done by now.

The lack of communication from the athletic department is it's weakness. This just fits the bill.

My only surprise is it did come out before -- not during like last year.

They sent out an email late Sunday afternoon for a Monday morning on-sale. Surely you can understand that some folks won't see it in time. Not everyone is checking their email daily over the weekend, especially the one they use for brand stuff. I myself just saw it about 20 minutes ago.

Most people will probably be fine, but it would have been easy to give 2-3 days notice and I'm not sure what the downside would have been to do so.

I totally understand that and asking for more lead time is completely reasonable. I was referencing the rationale that people need to plan time off to order tickets and that emails would be in the spam folder.

Not planning time off...but ..When I know tickets are coming on sale, I block time off my calendar at the start time (no meetings for an hour) around buying tickets to get through online process early. Today, I have things scheduled and may not get to it until tonight. IMO, should be a week notice. That is just showing respect to YC members/season ticket holders.

I can appreciate that. In reading the email it doesn’t look to be a situation where you can miss out by being late. You order and then the tickets are allocated by rank. So using fuzzy math, if Clemson were to say give us 2500 tickets and each person can order a block of 6, then anyone ranked 415 or higher could be out of luck. So when you order may be a moot point for some.

Could be. But not necessarily the overall point. It is a customer service idea...There should be a better delivery of information and the communication around it. The communication states that tickets go on sale today..."before they go on sale to the public"...no mention of when going on sale to public....that could be July 16th for all we know. Not likely I would hope...but it could. It is apparent that the ticket office believes the Clemson game will, either be high demand or we have been provided a limited number of tickets creating the high demand....the overall timing of the communication..and how it is articulated in the email is just not a good look in my opinion.
Can understand if there is some underlying reason...if Clemson provided seat allotment on Friday, July 12 and stated App St ticket office needs to close sales by Thursday or Friday of this week or we are taking unsold seats back to Clemson for Clemson fans...if not something like that....it is just not good delivery and the details of the communication could be better.

Good point about vacations. A week seems reasonable, people may be taking a week vacation and not checking emails.

Yep. Let’s take all aspects of personal accountability and place them squarely on someone else to ensure that they cover any cracks that may exist in one’s personal habits.

That is the American way.

Orrrrr... How about our athletics department fix a known issue that has plagued them for over a decade and actually communicate with its donors like every other campus does.

I still get emails from opposing schools that I have purchased tickets through their ticket office when App was playing then. Usually weeks in advanced for announcements to start. Then repeated emails going forward. Heck, I am getting emails weekly for both Queens and Asheville basketball season tickets. I know who they are playing before I know who App is playing.

For App, I get one email the day before. Last year, I got the email during the sale, so I guess it's getting better.

But the communication from the athletics department is piss poor at best -- and has been for a long time. I get they are running on bare minimum resourcing to stay afloat, but this is an on-going known issue.

Or just continue to make excuses for something that has long been known as a weak point instead of addressing and trying to correct the issue. Also the American way.
