Boone Weather and Liberty Travel Schedule

Unread post by asumba95 » Thu Sep 26, 2024 3:26 pm

Anyone know if Liberty is already in Boone? Just wondering given that tomorrow looks like a "travel is not safe" day.

I’m not certain they stay in Boone. Most do not.

From Lynchburg, all major highways. Travel should not be an issue..other than if winds are crazy high.

I don't consider 421 a major highway, but I hope you're right. More concerned about mud/rock slides if the area gets the extra 12"+ of rain that's in the forecast. I lived in Boone during Hugo, and it was an absolute mess.

Weekend looks wet, perfect for sliding down Miller Hill in the mud and hitting the bars.

I was planning on driving up from Charlotte tomorrow to our house on the New River but the bridge is flooded. Guess I'm coming up Sat AM unless the game is postponed

They had four runs going last week. Might be time to install magic carpets and raise some NIL funds.

Most teams stay in Banner Elk at the Best Western, which used to be a Holiday Inn I believe

If the game is postponed it looks like week 8 (Oct 19) is an open date for both teams, but Liberty Bibberty had middle of the week games weeks 7, 9, and 10.

I must be looking at a different weather app as what I'm seeing is decent weather. ..20% chance of rain.

I think the issue may be what, if any, damage and chaos the flooding will cause on Friday and how long will Boone have to deal with the aftermath. Roads might be washed out or still flooded. Same for parking lots. Who knows how much rain this storm will dump on us.

Miller Hill we get regraded by 4 pm Saturday from the students. The question is which parent will be the first to try it? We may need an ambulance on standby.

What's the over/under said parent didn't mean to be the first to try it?

Wasn't there talk of a full service hotel visiting teams could stay at the old high school at some point?

I'm guessing that's lowest on the totem pole in priorities, but would be nice to have!
