Yeah, that’s not good pub. Those words are pretty damning. I’m sure stuff like this will be used in recruiting; until something changes (either play wise or coach).

And that's still 50+- spots below where we should be, which is very sad. The best we looked this year was a top 75-100 team and lost.

Not in the bottom 10 yet, so hopefully we can avoid that as a "first".

Agreed.

I can't imagine any App fan can see that and not be bummed out, but App has not fallen. Stumbled perhaps, but we will be back. We have a game to play in Boone next week. Seems that is what we should be focused on because that's where the return begins. It's the only thing actually on our plate right now as fans.

Forget what exact ranking this list shows or exactly where one thinks we land in 75-100 or worse than 100, bottom line line is the comments in that article are hard to dispute.

Amazing to read stuff like this in the media, yet we still have fans here arguing that he's doing a good job:

"Shawn Clark's seat is getting considerably warm. He inherited a Group of Five gem and has slowly run it into the ground. The Mountaineers have already lost three Sun Belt Conference games, which means that they're two losses away from matching their worst conference record since making the jump to the FBS level; that was when they went 3-5 in 2022, also under Clark."

the problem is clark has done a decent job...10-4; 9-3; 6-6; 9-5....and by some miracle he pulls out 4 more wins...we will get to a bowl again. It's hard to fire a coach without a losing record. However, if we don't do something soon we will be like an nc state year in and year out....we'll have a coach who does ok...with the occassional run to a conference title..the occassional 9 win season...but i truly believe our alumni, our fans, our administration and our football culture does not accept mediocrity.

We gave a mountaineer a chance. He hasn’t been altogether awful but he has failed to uphold the standard. So the question is, what are we trying to do here…be a place where former players can find gainful employment or be an elite football program?

It used to be both.
