This has surely been discussed here before but why not put permanent seating on Miller Hill and make it a student only section? It basically is one now. Or at least cover it with artificial turf with App State on it.
Thoughts?

Part of me is for the thought process given I have Free Miller Hill as a tag line 😂😂.
But, part of me likes to see the students enjoying the slide...

I think stripes of black and gold field turf would look great

The hill is awesome. I would say the best student section in the nation ! That being said, some of you risk mangement guys could evaluate how big of a lability it is. This time of year it also begins to look terrible and kinda “second rate”. If the track was high school ish then certainly the hill is too. I’d say take some of the money from the fully funded East Side Tower project and make it student/general admission seating.

Lol please don't turf it as is. THAT would be a liability. Holy slippery slope batman.

Personally I would have done a concrete terrace where each section was a good 4 feet and bowl in the whole area. Give people real room if they are going to sit/stand on concrete. Put a quality sized concession stand above it and give big discounts to students who use their meal cards or IDs or something.

While we’re discussing potential upgrades, can we also create some “designated vomiting areas” behind the Miller Hill bathrooms?

Leave the hill alone, can you imagine how slippery turf on an angle would be.some one messaged while I was typing.

True that! Pretty sorry that we manage our business by lawsuit.

I threw this together, as I think this sort of revamp of Miller Hill would be great.

Instead of one big slope, I'd suggest terracing it out to be four or five larger steps, maybe 3 or 4 feet wide a piece. That way we can limit the amount of sliding on the hill itself, while still maximizing the amount of people we can fit there. Then, leave the middle of the hill and portions of the curved sides free for people to use as aisles, or still stand on, should they so choose. This would leave us the actual hill while allowing us to keep people much safer without ruining their line of sight.

Also, this would allow us to either lay turf down on the hill or keep it grassed.

Can you photoshop a flannel border replacing the yellow between the field and black border?

I would like to figure a way to get the fans a little closer to the end zone. Enough room for pass plays to not be an issue...but closer so crowd noise is even louder for visitors if trying to score on that end of the stadium..

Thank you, this is a happy medium that I think everyone could live with. It reminds me of the grassy area in the amphitheater at Tate-Evans Park in Banner Elk.

It's a liability and at some point it will be bowled in...I just hope it happens before any incident/lawsuit prevents people from being able to be there during games.
