Tonight’s game showcases that shawn clark is not our guy. there are several plays tonight that some of you may call “ballsy” or “risk taking” shots, that were plain stupid. going for the field goal at 43yds was a dumb risk, along with going for the 4th down before the half. they were bad decisions, plain and simple. this game is about winning smart, i played it until i was 22, if not clark, sloan needs a boot. I will no longer support a staff that holds out on prayers game after game. we could have won this game.

I don’t mind the FG with 20 to go. Hughes hasn’t missed all year. Had to score twice. The other calls were foolish.

Wouldn’t break my heart to see Ponce hit the road as well.

New O & D coordinators have to come in even if Shawn is back. No excuses on the coordinator front.

I doubt much changes. Will welcome it if it does come though. A wholesale new blood would be great.

What quality coaches are coming here KNOWING it would be a make or break season?
We need an entire reset so badly.

The non called timeout at 2:12 left in the game is grounds to be fired. If you don't know that you do not need to be a head coach of ANY football team.

I'm old enough to remember when a lack of consistency with coordinators was the excuse for Clark.

I don’t think that Clark is going to be fired as I have said before. He may resign, but I don’t think that he will be fired. $500k doesn’t sound like a lot to some of ya’ll but it is and we don’t have it to throw around. I expect some changes going forward and yes those are probably coaches and coordinators. To 95&97’s point, that in and of itself becomes problematic as the attrition of staff over the years has caused some of this. So changing it out again isn’t ideal.
My point is that this is a business decision and you don’t throw $500k around if it doesn’t guarantee a solution.

Yep, good luck hiring any quality coaches taking this route.

Rebuilding is ideal for most.
This is a long-term business decision.

You guys cry poor all the time to provide cover for Clark. My guess is it’s folks in his camp, or the man himself, feeding you this. Also, just an idea to cut through the staff attrition problem, hire a guy who can call plays.

Also, on the topic of folks crying poor. How has every single App team been able to overcome this issue? Volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball, think we’ll see softball improvement. Basically every program is trending up, except football. Riddle me that.

The logic breaks down quickly once you ask just a couple of basic questions doesn’t it.

You’ve got it backwards, we can’t afford not to.
$500k is a drop in the bucket compared to the $20MM we get between sponsorships ticket sales and donations, I’d guess 90-95% football driven

Agree to disagree. If that check is written, it will be by a donor and that is $500k that can’t be donated to the overall program.
We can continue this conversation if you like, I’ve got a little time before the Panther’s game, but I don’t see Shawn getting fired.

“Guarantee”, if that’s what we need to change coaches then Clark will die as our head coach.
