I cannot believe this is real. This would be huge for the Sunbelt. I hope this is true and the Sunbelt should jump on this. Read below.

Nah it was a typo. G6 still gets one to split.
Sec+big10 =8
Acc+big 12=4
G6=1
At large =1 or 3
Total 14 or 16
If the g6 can negotiate that it gets say 3 bids total with 1 at large it might be a good deal.
The sunbelt champion will almost always be in the top 3

Given the discrepancy in the bid dispersal between the BIG10/SEC and ACC/BIG12, the hope that the G6 gets more than 1 is a pipe dream.

Here's the issue with these playoffs. With the way the world is going players are sitting out of these games. Seasons are getting extended and more games being added. That is a lot of wear and tear on athletes, especially those going to the NFL. Just take the champions of each conference and put them in a playoff. If those in the SEC want to gripe about the competition, move to another conference. If they aren't interested in leveling the playing filed that much just take the G6/5 (whatever it is now) and take the conference champs and let them play for their own championship. The only way App would run the gauntlet of a big playoff is for all these major teams to have a lot of players sit out. Its just asinine what its become. Until they fix the NIL/Portal then the rest is moot.

They should do is what Division III has done. 40 team playoff. The easiest way to fix March Madness is to go to 128 teams, that is only one more game.

Extend it one week. Goes to 256 teams. Only a hundred left out. 31 conferences now. Only about 3 per conference left out. Cancel the NIT and the other 2-3 buy-in tournaments.

256, only two more games and one more weekend. Think about how much revenue would be generated and how many more communities this would benefit?
