Saw where Arkansas and two other states are proposing state tax free income for university payments for nil.

It's amazing how far the greed goes around college football that governments are stepping in to give their schools an edge. I feel like there will be lawsuits against this somehow. Nuts. Pro sports it is. Student athlete is gone.

They could only forgive State income tax. There are states with no state income tax. But I can tell you this, if NC pulled a stunt like this I would have my employer stop my state withholding and dare NC to come and ask me for the money.

I would tell them my employer paid me for the use of my name, image and likeness.

Can't help but think lawsuits are coming because this limits who can get it. Anyone can work a job that gives tips so no tax on tips is okay but I have to think that lawsuits are coming. What should be able to let a football player not pay taxes but any regular student working has to do it? With how much many players are making in NIL some of them should be in high tax bracket.

This is that fuzzy math billionaires use to rationalize cities paying from their stadiums. No thanks.

Yeah, this should go over real well. Work-a-day Joe and Jill pay taxes and an 18 year old who can play ball doesn’t. Like I alluded to earlier, I would bring a picture of myself to my boss and ask him our her to put it in the company lobby and pay me for my NIL. I’ll do the actual work for free. Completely idiots running the show in Arkansas.

At the root of this is a “money grab”. Somewhere I’ve read that the love of money is the root of ALL evil.
