This is definitely true. They also called him Smokey Joe for a reason. I really wish he would have treated his body better and been more focused. I firmly believe that he partied less and studied the game more that he would have not thrown 15 picks as senior and would have been among the top 4-5 QBs in all of I-AA that year.

100%. To me he was our toughest overall but what Richie did made me say him first. He and AE both are our top 2 for sure.

Travaris Cadet was the best athlete to play QB for us. These others like AE were great for us, but if we're talking just athletic ability, its Cadet. Could play any position he was asked to, then went on to play 7 years in various roles in thr NFL.

I will go with Brice as the best passer because I think that also includes decision making in that description of a passer. I think Joey and Brice are right there with each other but Brice made better decisions so I give him the slight nod in the best passer category.

I wonder how we might view these QBs if they had played under different coaches. Satt seemed to really understand Lamb's positives and negatives and game-planned well around that. IDK if Clark would have been able to do that. Conversely, I don't think Aguilar's passing numbers are as crazy if he plays under Satt because the run game was always first option. I could be wrong. I'm just spitballing.

Of course pure speculation and very biased, but if Satt or Drink coached Joey (and he had a similar leash as Clark) Joey would have run 4-5 times more per game. I also think Joey's INT numbers would have been down about 30%. We put Joey is a tough spot more than necessary last year.

It'll be interesting to see how he performs at UT this fall. I tend to think those around him (players and staff) didn't help him succeed last year. We'll likely have a good idea of the truth soon.

I do not believe Tenn has the talent as they had last. Last year's OL was suspect and may be even more suspect this year. Joey is going to need all the creativity that he has to avoid the rush this year.

He certainly was. I was thinking of him as a RB instead of a QB since he only played QB as a backup for one year at App and contributed at WR and RB. DeAndre Presley is another one. High level athlete who could play QB and CB. He made the All-SoCon team at QB.

With the Sun Belt having injury reports now I wonder what we would have listed Richie going into that game and if that would have dictated if we played him. It just might be smart to list all players as questionable so you can ride the fence and truly make game-time decisions lol

That is going to be the smart way to do it. They absolutely are and it is absolutely stupid for coaches to give an honest injury listing to opponents. I feel like coaches are still going to lie on these and list players with phantom injuries or list them as questionable when they know for sure one way or the other.
