My wife and I were eating at The Dairy Center in Mount Airy Friday night. As I got up to pay the bill a guy was sitting at the bar and said he liked my App cap. He said he had played QB at App. As soon as he said his name I instantly knew who he was. He said he played under 2 head coaches while he was there. After graduation he got a tryout with the Patriots and was about to sign with the Birmingham Stallions and then the USFL folded. Can you name him and the 2 head coaches he played for?

PS - This question is not intended for Scatman because I know he will get both questions right.

I assume I could guess based on googling. But I was about 6 so no first had knowledge.

Before my time on the QB at App but based on timeline of USFL folding, I would assume the 2 coaches were Sparky Woods and Mack Brown.

Randy Joyce is correct. He was one heck of a 3 sport athlete in high school.

Randy actually played for three head coaches. He was recruited by Mike Working.

True that. Case in point:
1) Blew a 14 point lead at WF and we lost
2) At WCU Alvin Parker had 180+ yards and they couldn't stop him. Late in the game it was fourth and 1 from their 2 yard line. He called the TE drag across the back of the endzone...... incomplete and another loss
3) He even accused us athletic trainers for being the cause of a player's abnormally high BP

Needless to say it's why I need therapy whenever I hear his name.
