Hotel Room Shortage
Hotel Room Shortage
Due to the delay of the opening of the Cottages of Boone there is going to be a shortage of hotel rooms for our 6pm season opener against NC A & T. My daughter's boyfriend along with 500 ASU students have been placed in Boone area hotels due to these apartments not being ready. The students are being told that it will be weeks before they are finished and the county issuing certificate of occupancy so they can move in. So that means a lot of the area hotels will be taken by the displaced students.

The CO dance can go on forever ...
I hope this won't hurt the hotels too much. I'd guess they're getting paid well enough for students to live there.

That stinks. I guess there is always the option of staying down the mountain (Wilkesboro or Lenoir) for those who have to drive long distances. I would hate that. I am only staying overnight for one game, but I already have my cabin reserved fortunately.

Likewise, I guess I'm lucky I bought a place in Todd a couple months ago.appsfan wrote:I guess it is good that I made reservations months ago

I'd recommend checking out the house rentals in the Banner Elk area too. This is the down time between summer and ski season and I'd bet you can find some good rates over there. Plus you can shake your fist at our opponents as the bus goes by to/from the Best Western. DM me if anyone needs rental agency recommendations, my parents live around there.
