Roster Updates

I’ve been working on the roster for a little while comparing the prospectus and the first roster to the current one. The first official roster from July had us at 110 players. Holloway and Crawford were not listed. We dropped to 109 when Fowler dropped but went back to 110 with the addition of Anderson. As of today we are at 108. Gore and Smith were dropped in the past two days. I’ll be keeping a watch on it every couple of days and will post any updates.

Dropped:

Frank Crawford DB 6’ 1” 180 Sr. Ole Miss Transfer

WR/DB Trey Anderson (5' 10" 185) of Bishop Moore Catholic School in Orlando, FL

Also RB Paul Magloire has changed his number from #2 to #20. I have a little information about the other #20 but as of right now it’s a Rivals story. All I can say is he is temporarily not with the team by his own choice. He is on good standing on all counts. Once it comes out or changes I will say more.

We've had some changes in the past week. Now at 107 as we've removed three and added two. I'll list them below.

Removed:
OLB Chris Shaffer (6' 2" 200 So.) of Providence High School in Charlotte, NC
WR Andy Shuler (5' 10" 180 So.) of Richmond Senior High School in Rockingham, NC.
RB Paul Magloire (6-2 210 Fr) Lynbrook, N.Y. (Milford Academy) (Lynbrook)

Added:
OLB Dustin Anderson (5' 10" 190 Fr.) of Alexander Central High School in Taylorsville/Hiddenite, NC
DB Dylan Clayton (5' 10" 180 Fr.) of Jack Britt High School in Fayetteville, NC

Not a ton on Anderson except he was Northwestern 3A/4A All-Conference.
Clayton has a bit more info. I've linked his MaxPreps page and to his Hudl page below. When you open the Hudl link it will open a blank Hudl screen but his highlight clips are listed below.

I'll ask around. Both were still listed just last week on the roster. Both he and Shuler are also still listed in school. Shaffer is listed in the Participation Report for both games but didn't record any stats. I'll see if I can find anything out.

Little side note. Both Shuler and Shaffer are honor roll students.

Roster now at 105. QB Kalik Barnes has been removed. And Sean Price was removed after his dismissal. That should free up two more scholarships for this year.

App has released the current roster for 2014-2015. It stands right now at 83. This does not include any of our 2014 early enrollees. I'm sure they will be added once the semester starts in January. Our 11 seniors have been removed along with the three juniors we already knew weren't coming back (Andre, Chambers, and Lee) and Tyrell Brown, who left at the end of the semester. All the non seniors are listed below. I've bolded the ones that we didn't know about. Henry Barnes is new as we knew he wasn't coming back for spring ball but he had been left on the roster until now. One notable name not listed is Alex Gray. He is still listed on the current roster, for now.

Just thought I would update the roster changes. Most already know that Alex Gray has now been removed and all of our early enrollees have been added, except for Montez McGuire, who has been removed pending his classes at GMA. Listed below are the updates, which bring the roster to 86.

Grey hurt, second on the team in tackles, reported one of the hardest hitters on the team, great size for a defensive back, before he got kicked off the team, looked like he was going to be one the best defensive backs we have had in a long time

Hate losing Grey, but he made his own bed. Worth noting that Saxton had been getting good reviews from the coaching staff and had shown some ability. I know some of the guys on the team had told me that he was a good kid and could be a player. I think he is just a victim of the numbers with Caruso and Penny Smith coming in and Lamb red-shirting. I hope he lands in a good spot at a FCS school and gets a shot.

Disappointing concerning Grey.
If we could have kept the good players we cut or lost the last few years we would have really been
something else. Unfortunately if we had of kept some of them, they might have given
the team many more problems.

(Just a comment: I hate all the ads that play sound when you are on Yosefs Cabin.)
