Jackson is not the answer

I saw this a couple years ago at Furman and this is all I'll say. Jackson has made me frustrated with APP football. He's not a tough QB and he whines. People will be mad at me for posting this, but Jackson is one of those QB's that will put up numbers but will not lead us to the promise land. Mark this on your calendars. We will be a better team without him.

I agree, Bryant looked better tonight.

No QB has a chance when the O-line tags you every play. We have no o-line.

Jackson is not the guy he was. I think he is no way near the QB he was. His mobility now is a liability.

He certainly looked more poised.

Guys like Williams and Armanti have that extra something you can not coach. I have always felt we gave Satt too much credit for our run. JLJ is a great kid and a good leader but he can not will a team to victory.

You realize he is coming off of ACL surgery last winter? Jeez give the guy a break. I'm as frustrated as anyone but Jamal is not the main problem right now

The same DP that is playing in the NFL? I suppose so. I love App State. I LOVE THEM! But I promise everyone who is reading this, Jackson lacks that "it" factor. People won't believe me, but they will see. it happens sometimes.

Injuries have a way of doing that to some players. Of our last 4 starting QBs, I rate JJ #4.
AE RW DP JJ
The first 2 did have blocking.

Exactly. That may be the reason he is not the answer right now.

If Jamal can't run with confidence he has to be replaced.
As Brownie was just saying on the radio, the type of offense App runs is predicated on a mobile QB. Jamal clearly suffered tonight, and the offensive line didn't give him much help.
I hate it for him..the injury..because he's the kind of student athlete, and person, that makes me proud he's at my alma mater.

Jamal has no concept of pocket presence. As soon as he sees a defensive lineman in a place where he doesn't like he will panic. Dude is all east/west. Every throw off the back foot also.
Bryant is young, but stepped up in the pocket and made some ballsy throws. Our only resemblance of an offense tonight.

Jackson had problems, but having someone in his face all night was the o-line problem. Not having plays ready wasn't his problem. The defense not pulling any press on their QB is not his problem. The defense, not being able to bring down Canada wasn't his problem. The team being totally unprepared wasn't his problem. I think I saw their QB with his grill out cooking hot dogs one time.

I totally agree. I would take a kid like JLJ and lose any day over a dumbass like Price.

The defense is not going to stone wall every team every game. Montana has a good team and were prepared to win. We did not move the ball. We have an all American QB and this is the production we get out of him? I didn't expect a superman effort, but I expected better than this.

I expected better than this also.I expected better from the coaching staff and expected better from the team. I expected this to be a nip and tuck APP Griz game. and where was all that speed and attack? Not a good debut at all. Maybe we're just not that good this year. A loss that you at least show up for is one thing but man............Well I hope the Griz keep the steam rolling and I'll look forward to their playoff win against NDSU. We better get to work!

We need to get Bryant and/or Lamb as ready as we can with all the experience they can get.
Our #1 QB is not the same as he was at all. His decision making is atrocious.
Get ready for the future now, don't wait until next year to get our QB experience,
because either way our #1 QB will be gone.

I have read all of the posts on this subject and for those that are explaining Jamal's poor performance due to his knee surgery, that would tell me he shouldn't be in there until he is healthy.
Jamal looked awful tonight. He had very limited mobility and his decision making was extremely slow. For those indicating that his O-line did not offer much protection, it appeared to me that when Cam Bryant was in there, he wasn't rushed or flustered as much with the same O-line. He looked poised and actually was the one that finally got the offense moving.
I'm not convinced that Ricky Ferguson should be our #1 guy at RB. He is way too small to carry the load and is definitely no K-Rich.
Cox looked impressive whenever he got a touch, which was very limited and Magliore needs more touches as well.
The play calling was quite predictable.
On defense, Montana was picking us apart in both passing and rushing the ball. Law and Walton were impressive, but we need to keep offenses from getting 400 plus yards to win.
All in all, a very poor performance. I expected a much better App State to show up and we didn't.

Jackson smashed his head on the ground after rushing for a first and it took two botched snaps in a row and three dazed plays to finally take him out. You have to be aware and know what's going on in real time. I was beyond unimpressed with Satterfield.
