It's gone.

What was premature? the announcement that ASU was going to the Sun Belt? not painting the SoCon logo on the field? the PSA on the video board? not having the SoCon logo on the jersey?JCline0429 wrote:I understand all the reasons, but I think it was a bit pre-mature.
Imagine that, you have a contrary opinion on the matter....JCline0429 wrote:I understand all the reasons, but I think it was a bit pre-mature.
Just my opinion, but primarily the logo on the field.lillycafe wrote:What was premature? the announcement that ASU was going to the Sun Belt? not painting the SoCon logo on the field? the PSA on the video board? not having the SoCon logo on the jersey?JCline0429 wrote:I understand all the reasons, but I think it was a bit pre-mature.
I'm not the only one who feels that way, contrary to your thoughts.ASUTodd wrote:Imagine that, you have a contrary opinion on the matter....JCline0429 wrote:I understand all the reasons, but I think it was a bit pre-mature.
The SoCon paid for logos in Holmes, I seem to recall. I could be quite mis-remembering.T-Dog wrote:I think the SoCon logo is still there, but it's really faded. Dduring the summer, I couldn't see it from certain angles. No need to change it now. Just paint the parts that aren't covered up by the Sun Belt logo next summer.
The good thing about the Sun Belt is that they cover the costs of adding their logos.
The Holmes Center is getting a brand new court next summer since the current one has been sanded down to its limit. Everything else logo-wise are simple fixes.
As for Charlotte, putting the C-USA logo on the field kills two birds with one stone. Don't blame them at all for it.
Wasn't blaming, but I was thinking they were officially an independent FBS team this year and I was wondering if that's why they only had an outline and next year they would fill it in. I just remember ECU's being solid.T-Dog wrote:

Not sure there was a choice, Cline. We can't win the SoCon, so we're effectively not in the SoCon for football. Why put the name of a conference on the field that we're not in? That makes no sense.JCline0429 wrote:Just my opinion, but primarily the logo on the field.lillycafe wrote:What was premature? the announcement that ASU was going to the Sun Belt? not painting the SoCon logo on the field? the PSA on the video board? not having the SoCon logo on the jersey?JCline0429 wrote:I understand all the reasons, but I think it was a bit pre-mature.
Isn't UNCC a year behind us in the transition, or will they be full FBS in 2015?Maddog1956 wrote:Wasn't blaming, but I was thinking they were officially an independent FBS team this year and I was wondering if that's why they only had an outline and next year they would fill it in. Was expecting to see either a Sunbelt or SoCon at KBS, but maybe the SoCon was there just needed painting.
I see your point.ASUMountaineer wrote:Not sure there was a choice, Cline. We can't win the SoCon, so we're effectively not in the SoCon for football. I thought they were even with us but not according to this.ASUMountaineer wrote:

The team will play their first full season in the fall of 2013 as an FCS Independent.[20] On May 4, 2012 Charlotte agreed to rejoin Conference USA for all sports except football in 2013, with football joining in 2015 (the first year the 49ers would be eligible due to the NCAA requirement that start-up programs play a minimum of two years in FCS).[21] Charlotte will move to the FBS in 2015 and will become FBS bowl eligible in 2016.

They are also an FCS independent, not FBS as I said before.
Charlotte won't be an FBS transitional team (CUSA) until 2015. They will be FCS transitional next year.Maddog1956 wrote:Wasn't blaming, but I was thinking they were officially an independent FBS team this year and I was wondering if that's why they only had an outline and next year they would fill it in.
