Wow... I would like to punch that phuker Ed in the mouth. That is the most disrespectful piece I have ever read. Not only inaccurate but just plain stupid. A&T better? When our inexperienced coach finally decided that since they were going to stack the box to keep us from running up the middle we should run some four reciever sets and options, they could not stop us. They had to punt 9 times because their offense could not move the ball. They scored a grand total of 3 points in the second half. It would be appropriate for Ed to write a piece ripping on our inexperienced coach but to say A&T is a better team is just shit. I agree Scott Satterfield needs to frame this article.

Let's just stop paying attention to him. Who cares what he thinks.

I don't believe I'm about to say this, but, I hope fElon kicks their butts this coming weekend. Then the following week, we take out the fElons. Then I may begin to feel somewhat better.

This wannabe sportswriter has some real issues. Probably couldn't get into App or something.
However, we've got to take our medicine and do what it takes to get better, or we'll be reading much more of this, from Burlington, Greenville, Statesboro, Chattanooga, and Asheville.
Time to step up and play like App State. The rest will take care of itself.

Hardin didn't have anything positive to write about UNC so he wrote negatively about us. This is a common occurrence for this columnist, though normally it is not about us. As I stated on another post, this is the most attention given to us in the Greensboro paper since the win at Michigan. They also had an article this week pertaining to the new US News rankings of universities. They mentioned how HPU, Elon, UNC, WFU, and Duke were all ranked, but failed to even give us recognition of being ranked as the #9 regional university. We simply do not receive coverage in the press like other universities within the state.

I did to. In reality though he probably enjoys getting under our skin but I could not resist.

Thus begins the age-old question... Does the better team always have the highest score at the end of the day?

This article did go beyond what a professional sports reporter would produce. Yes, A&T did beat us fair and square. Report it and move on. However, it is APParent that this individual has some sort of personal ax to grind with ASU. Once again, it is his job to report on the game without interjecting personal feeling into the story. By doing so he puts himself and the newspaper he works for in jeopardy of being viewed in a negative light by the public. I don't know, but, if I were an App grad/supporter/etc. and had financial ties or business with this newspaper I'd be considering severing ties about right now.

Don't blame A&T for what this guy writes, they played a better game than we did, that's it.

A lot of what he said was true but he didn't have to add so much venom to his reporting.

If he did go to WCU it's almost certain he didn't get accepted at App. (just guessing)

Just remember he is trying to sell papers and drive hits to their web site. If you want him to dry up, avoid everything he is associated with. For sure don't buy the paper and don't even read it online. Newspapers today live for that ad revenue.

I didn't like it but I don't have an argument for it. I hate it but he told the truth. Sports writers are not in the business of being kind. Sportswriters are in the business of telling it like they see it and in a way that sells. If we don't want more of these articles there is a way to stop it. Win the games we should win. It is just that simple. If this really bothers people that much, you will be jumping off buildings when Herbstreit starts on us after the Michigan game. Take a chill pill this comes with the added exposure we have been looking for. If we want to play with the big boys we have to act like big boys.

And how about this cheap shot: "Football season is all but over for the team that's going to FBS next season. That suddenly looks like a bad idea, too." Two losses and the season is "all but over?" And then the comment about FBS, which shows what really wads his panties.

He could have concentrated on what a great win it was for A&T and complimented their players, fans and coaches. Instead he used the article to denigrate our program and our fans. If you can live with that, have at it. "Act[ing] like big boys" does not include bending over when somebody does a hatchet job on our program.

We need to be more thick skinned. This kind of stuff will come our way now that we have made "the move".

I remember after losing to Florida we got hammered by their press and fans. It is par for the course in FBS football. It is not nice, but it is the reality of the world of big time football.

The only thing that quiets it is winning, but not even that has spared Saban as he gets skewered frequently despite the crystal footballs he has won.

We just need to get alligator hides and look the other way.

I have no problem with him calling App out for getting outplayed by A&T. I don't even have a problem with him stating that A&T is flat-out better: I disagree but if this is the one game you have to go by, the argument could be made.

What I DO have a problem with is his baseless statement of Appalachian's "lack of respect" for A&T. Going into the half, ASU trailed 14-6 and knew they had to kick off to start the second. To me, the coaches feeling that they needed points before the half to get back into the game is a sign of great respect for the way A&T was playing. Of course, it was a poor decision in hindsight because of the pick six but it surely was not a sign of disrespect.

The biggest problem is that it does not read like a piece written by an unbiased journalist. It reads like it was written by, well, a Western graduate with a disdain for Appalachian.

The sensationalism in this article is ridiculous and completely unprofessional. It read more like a cheesy movie trailer than an article from a sports writer. Beyond that he makes statements that are completely false. I'm sure his fellow Catamounts and the Aggie faithful are getting a laugh, but that is really all this "article" is good for.

N.C. A&T then drove the football down the throats of the Apps the rest of the evening

The Aggies had 144 yards rushing and averaged just 3.3 ypc. Only 244 yards total.

I'm with you, but I'd rather A&T beats the crap out of Elon and we beat even more of the crap out of them. That way I'd feel like we got beat by a good team at least. Plus Elon falls even lower in the polls!

This is just pretty normal in the sports world. there is a difference between bending over and just shedding tears every time somebody writes an article. Can you tell me why we went for two? can you tell me why we threw a bomb down field into coverage instead of regrouping? How many times have we gone for it on 4th in the past? I like going for it a lot of times but if you look at our track record it looks like we just thought it would be easy. Again I don't like it but he wrote it as he saw it and that is his job. His job is not to make us happy. We got beat by A&T kind of hard to put lipstick on it.
