Time to get even stricter on the kids. Mistakes happen, but punishment seen creates conscience. The lack of Price for Price defined may be hurting compliance.

I tell people time and time again: Boone is not the town in which to buzz drive. They are everywhere and they have nothing better to do. (for the record .04=~1-2 beers and I highly doubt the cop's claim of "strong odor of alcohol" was made in good faith-- but alas, it doesn't matter. He is under age, can't legally drink a drop and there is no way to prove the pigImean officer didn't have reasonable suspicion to deploy a breathalyzer)
Also, why is he out drinking during the season? I know it's a bye week, but come on. Be smart.
The meaningless season groupthink strikes again.

We certainly don't want law enforcement officials doing their job do we? I've not heard or read any accusations of Boone & ASU Campus Police pulling people over just to harass them to see if they have been drinking. Until you produce some actual instances - not hearsay - I'd keep those accusations in check.
These kids - and I will refer to them as kids as long as they show little to no ability to act like a mature adults - need to be taught a lesson. I'm personally fed up with these pampered athletes thumbing their noses at those who donate their hard earned money to pay their way to school. If they can't show any more respect and appreciation for the people who are footing the bill for them to attend ASU I'm not sure I want to continue giving. I realize for every knuckle head there are a 100 who do appreciate what Yosef Clubbers do for them. I certainly hope Scott makes character a high priority in recruiting because even though Jerry Moore preached it, he sure had a lot of players who were lacking in it.
Players suspended or kicked off team for violating team or NCAA rules since 2007: Price, Barnes, Lamm, Lott, Rizor, Dufort, Gainey, McDuffie, Tanyi, Hillary, Wray, & Reine. Players who simply went away : Derek Evans, Ron Henderson, Tysen Holloway, Greg Hall, Matt Privette, Dylan Bostic, Trevor Sawyer, Darius Smith, Jordan gary, Chad Turner, Nick Sloan and DeMorris Brooks.

I do not usually agree with gonzo but I kinda agree.
When I was in college I was pulled late one night with my girlfriend (wife now). I do not drink now and did not then.
When the cop came up to my car he told me I was "weaving" in the road. Huh????? Weaving? No way. He was just seeing if I had been drinking.
How was I supposed to fight a charge/opinion of an officer of weaving????
It happens and it makes me sick.
PS. If this was a legal stop (and it seems so with speeding) then I say sock it to him.... I have no pity for people drinking/driving/revoked license etc.......

The stop was made by ASU Police, who along with WCSD has a stick right up their ass. Boone PD aren't as bad. Still, the officer seems to be following the letter of the law. The fact that he had the BAC test later says that Blair admitted his drinking when the officer enquirer and was tested later on.
In my four years as a student, I've was pulled over four times by ASU PD for a rolling stop on a right-hand turn. Never got ticketed for it though. Every time they seemed disappointed when I was sober (and I was every time).

Wow, this sucks! After Price, I would think these Kids, and they are Kids, (what do you call your 20 year old college student?) would know they are under scrutiny by law enforcement as are all college students in Boone. If you are driving in Boone at 3AM, you are going to get pulled and the officer is going to suspect you have been drinking and yes, they will without hesitation drum up a reason for pulling you...you can read; lie like a SOB here. If you think otherwise, grow up! My advice to our athletes is the same I gave my daughter, don't even have one drink and drive in Boone; it's the best policy wherever you are and an absolute must in Boone. Besides, it's not a metropolis, you can walk almost anywhere if you can't get a ride with a sober person.

Guess I get to collect that 10 bucks now. I bet someone this would break before Wednesday.
As I said in the "6' 5" Guy thread" the Price situation
should have been enough but I guess it wasn't. Time for another team Responsibility and Consequences talk with these two front and center as the poster boys. Time to put the big boy pants on, man up, and get the fact that you are held to a higher standard. I know that getting college students, even the underage ones, not to drink is damn near impossible but stay the he** in, designate a driver, or call for a ride. Make arrangements and things like this don't happen.
I feel for Scott right now. He's got a full enough plate without having to get smacked in the face with things like this. Hopefully this team and the first full class of his recruits can take a lesson from these situations, and some good can come out of this.

Exact same thing happened to me. I was leaving a bar one night (I was the DD) and rolled slightly while making a right on red. The cop pulled me suspecting I was drunk, since I was leaving a bar and all. My story differs from yours slightly in that I got a ticket for rolling the light. Probably frustrated that he didn't catch a drunk driver.

So you want to be a D1 Football head coach? Not me.
He is getting more than his fair share in the first month of coaching. I am glad I don't have to make the choices Coach Satterfield does. I thought being the parent of a 14 year old daughter was tough. I just can't imagine having talks with these guys and telling them to make smart decisions and then getting these phone calls from 2 of the leaders of this team. Exasperation.

"Pampered athletes"? You must be kidding. I doubt he was thumbing his nose at anything, he had a couple of beers. It happens. He doesn't owe the people that footed his scholarship bill a thing. Nothing. The people gave money to the school and the school awards scholarships. His duty is to the school and for that matter he doesn't "owe" anything. He EARNED the scholarship. If he wants to keep it he will have to stay within the lines but he doesn't "owe" anything to anyone.

He owes us nothing. But by the same token we owe nothing either. I left ASU with a 0 balance. We give because we support the way our money is being spent. When that support ends, like Fish said so does the giving. So I would rethink the attitude that our opinion of how our money is spent doesn't matter. BTW I would bet my ass Satterfields opinion is closer to mine than yours. Just so you know , I received two underage drinking tickets during my time at ASU so I am the last to condemn a kid for being a kid. So in Blair's case I am not so upset. He needs to see some extra running and be put to work in the community. Not to say he is not just as disrespectful to the team and his coach as Price but the infraction is pretty minor honestly.

Not mentioning any specific player or incident, but in general I would take an 0-11 season
with a chance to set a conduct tone. I hold my fellow APPS to a higher standard when it comes
to being a good citizen, a good sport, and a good guy.
And you can learn a whole lot about a man with how he handles a 2nd chance.

I'd like to take it back a few more years to include an ex-player that has provided the MMB with many chuckles on the board than he did cheers on the football field and that is none other than the player the opened the door for Kevin Richardson to become a star.... AA..... Y'all remember him?
