53 freshmen

I did a quick count of the roster on goasu.com. 53 fr, 24 so, 17 jr and 8 sr. Seems a bit skewed.

It's 53 Fr., 24 So., 19 Jr., and 11 Sr. for a total of 107. And if you look at the Jr.'s only 9 of the 19 have seen significant playing time with 3 more seeing the field on a limited basis.

I've pointed this out before but we a very young. The only good thing is that a lot of our Fr. and So. players (those without the shirt) are getting playing time. Might not be seeing results from all of them right now but that experience can only help down the road.

According to DJ on the after-game show last night, we will have over 25 scholarships available for next year, so expect another large recruiting class.

I think 8 to 12 schollies will be increasing from 73(75) to 85 next year.

Exactly. Add to that the number who have already left the team (listed in other threads) and assume there will be more attrition after the season. I would assume that DJ knows what he's talking about.
