Pretty sure Coach Moore gave him permission for that dunk during the Wofford game. it was on his 3rd 50 yd TD of the game

I doubt that but he sure didn't want to bench a star of the game, I'd say. Moore got a lot of flak on here for Quick's behavior.

Don't doubt it. Moore specifically said in his postgame interview that he gave Quick permission to do it.

Yep, Moore gave him a flying chest bump after the play too. It was pretty funny to see as Brian has a 40 inch vertical.

Sorry to hear that. I listen to all of the post game dialogue after I reach my car but I must have missed that one. I do recallone of our radio guys asking him why we had a rash of celebration penalties in several games one seaon and what was he doing about them but I never heard that one.

Hell, after Quick burned Woffy for three 50yd TDs they can't say anything about him dunking. they should be clearing the way for him to do so

Moore caught very little grief for that deal with Quick. Nobody thought much of it until the lack of discipline became a trend. In the interview, Moore said Quick didn't seem to be having much fun so he told him to go out and have some fun after he scored. There was very little negative said about that. In fact, most of the posts were supportive of letting him have a little fun. Again, the concern started only after several more lack of discipline issues in situations where we weren't winning by five touchdowns.

89 Is spot on, some have a selective memory of how things progressed. Richie, Kevin, Hunter, etc. were never look at me guys, that seemed to change late 2007 and only got worse.

Is it safe to assume this thread is no longer about 2013 recruits? Haha

Not to be a grouch but can we keep this thread focused on football recruiting?

I concur for the most part but Moore's lack of repercussions for Quick opened the door for the epidemic of violations. How he could he crack down on any of them without having disciplined Quick. I stayed silent on the subject at the time but was very disenchanted with Quick having done the dunk and still am. How could any of us criticize the rash of violations without questioning Quick? It could be said that he opened the flood gate.
Personally, I am old school. The player should just hand the ball off to the nearest ref or simply lay the ball down and get the heck back to the huddle.

That would be great news, here is a link to the Rivals profile:
Jordan Howard

I'll take all the 4.4 speed we can get our hands on! Plus, it could potentially allow Tony Washington to spare some bumps and bruises.

I used to be an act like you've been there guy, but I've never been there to know how I would act. It's gotta be quite the rush to have 30,000 Appalachian fans celebrating because of something you did. That said, I do think there is a difference between celebrating and showing up your opponent.

The MMB has always been one of the more ADD boards I've visited. Threads get derailed in a hurry sometimes and there is no stopping it. Also, some of the more pointless subjects seem to get talked about in length.

I agree, Twitter is a very revealing source of information. I've been impressed with Jones as well, along with George Vinson. Seems like a very humble kid.

One thing I really like about the signing of kids like Jones, Vinson and Covington is that they not only had several offers from FBS programs but from schools like Duke, Wake Forest, Temple, Georgia Tech, etc. who typically don't offer kids unless they are confident in what they will do off the field and in the classroom as well as football.

asumike83, did we sign Jones, the defensive tackle we have been talking about?

He is still undecided as far as I know. Sorry, should have clarified with such a common last name. I was referring to Dante Jones, the WR.
